Yeah it’s kind of crazy.

To me it is unlikely for the Cs to become a better team by trading him.

Assuming the goal is to win and maximize your window of being in the mix, then you need to extend Jaylen.

That wouldn't be like the Celtics trading Tatum. Tatum is a top 5 player in the league. Trae is maybe top 20. They're not on the same level.

It would be like if the Jazz traded Donovan Mitchell, which just happened last summer.

Also, doing this move would give the Hawks better balance. Right now, their 2 best players are both point guards, which is not good. Trae and Murray both made all-star team the year *before* they teamed up, but last season as teammates, neither of them made all-star. And the numbers went down last season for both of them. Doing this trade would give them 1 star PG and 1 star wing, which is better balance. It would also give the celtics 1 star PG and 1 star wing, rather than the status quo in Boston which is 2 star wings and 0 star PG's..

With that being said, I did hear a rumor that the Hawks are open to trading anyone on the team except for Trae..so admittedly, this one is a little farfetched..

We’re talking dejounte Murray now ? The same guy who can’t finish well at the rim or shoot 3’s ? The guy with the 54% ts year after year. Without trae on the floor the hawks were absolutely miserable with Dejounte running the show. The guy hits a few middies in a playoff series against us and suddenly half this board forgets about the man’s whole season

Atlanta isn’t trading trae. They’re super high on him with quinn and they’re not trading the best hawks since Dominique. He’s not the same level of player but this is like asking the Celtics to trade Tatum for a lesser player and picks. It doesn’t happen. Trae is a hawk until he asks out

Relax. Try cooling it with the combative tone. First it was "spare us the fanfic", then it was "swing and a miss" and now it's "score 0 for reading comprehension".

And my main point was that if there's such a big difference between Trae and Tatum (which you admit) then it's not even worth making the comparison. Again, Donovan Mitchell was the franchise player for Utah and he got traded (and he was much closer in talent to Trae than Tatum is..)

Don't forget Brad Stevens penny pinching ways because he has somehow make up for giving Jaylen Brown his contract. Brad Stevens is now forced to do penny pinching moves like trading for $37 million Porzingis and immediately signing him to an extension worth another $60 million. Damn Jaylen Brown!

Worse defender? The guy was a one time steals leader. A 2nd team all defense, and an all star. Jaylen haven’t even cracked all defense lol. He’s also the spurs all time leader in triple doubles despite playing only a few years with them. Jaylen has tunnel vision and can’t dribble. Smh

yeah he had a really good year with the spurs. Not disagreeing there and then he totally mailed it in defensively last year. Idk what to tell you, he was really good and then he wasn't. Maybe he will be again next year but its a position we already have an all defense guy at so idk what that helps us when Dejounte is much too slight to guard wings.
