We really doing this again? I'll be 65 in August. I actually remember watching SB III. THAT'S 53 YEARS AGO!!!!

I'm actually a little excited for this season. I haven't been this excited in a long time. I hope it doesn't end the way it always does. :eek1:

It's a pretty risky gamble from y'all

Unless you expect Rodgers to age like Brady, this year is kind of it. Rodgers probably has 2 years max left, and by the time you have to look for his replacement, the rest of the team is gonna be different due to having to let guys go for cap purposes. Elite defense is hard to maintain year to year

As long as Rodgers is at least as good as he was last year, y'all have a chance this year. After that, it might get rough.

Probably the same way you felt when we signed that POS Brett Farve. Rodgers' own family (ma, pa, bro, sis, etc.) hate his guts after Aaron betrayed them for that jock ho, Olivia Munn.

Yeah...we had a great season until Favre got hurt. Who gives a shyt about his family? Dude is one of the GOATs at his position. It's all about how much he has left in the tank. I'm not watching his mother etc play on Sundays!

That Jets team was really good until Favre got hurt. This time around the circumstances seem ripe for ANY average QB to have some success. The team was on playoff pace before injuries to Breece Hall and 3 OT's; their defense was top-3 in the league despite being on the field for extended periods; and everyone's coming back including the injured guys. The glaring hole is that their starting QB ranked below a lot of back-up QB's in QBR for the season.

So if Rodgers could even get to league-average QBR, even if the defense slipped back a bit, they'd be in a good position for a run. The upside is if Rodgers is even close to his career norms, then he's better than league average by a comfortable margin.

Once it was fairly clear Zach Wilson sucks and there's a 99% chance he won't pan out, Jets had to do something to maximize the rest of the roster, which actually isn't bad at all.

As a side benefit, maybe Zach learns the position while holding the clipboard for two years.
Risk is Rogers goes down and clown shoes is the QB again.

Or, Rogers takes Zach on one of his DMT journeys and Zach communicates with Brigham Young, Machine Elves, Joseph Smith and the angel Marconi and they tell him to get his sh*t together and focus and he does and becomes awesome.

Jets might have had the ability to have a longer run of being good if Zach had his act together, but instead they had to basically go for a 2 year window and look to reboot. Again. Like they always do.

Jets and Knicks joined together in some kind of curse. I bet Joe Willie was in the room at that satanic ritual Clyde and Red Holzman did. Weeb probably in there also.

Once Zach starts micro-dosing psybicillin, he'll realize that all of his troubles stem from his MAGA mom. Once he distances himself from her angry and hateful vibes, he'll calm down and possibly reach his potential.

So with Rodgers taking a pay cut, is it safe to say that Dalvin Cook will be a Jet?

No promises, but

And on the same speculative front, the guy I've been begging NY to bring back, Kwon Alexander, is also sending cryptic messages...

Shout out to the Jets landing a player who has made enough money, felt scorned enough, and was spiteful enough to make this happen. Now we just need our Tackles to protect him...it hasn't sounded great so far, though my boy Max Mitchell is supposedly doing well.

He wants to win. I had my doubts but you don't do this unless you're all in and you believe the talent and staff is enough to get to the SB.

The stuff i have heard regarding the Jets offensive line is concerning, but it's early.

Yeah, Rodgers is really enthusiastic. Players can't stop talking about how much he helps them all out. There's a clip of him pull Zach Wilson aside during drills to tighten up his execution, which is exactly the kind of mentoring the kid has needed since he got here (I'm still cynical on Zach).

The good news about the O-line is that they're missing a key piece. When Duane Brown gets back, I think the protection on the outside should improve significantly. I'm holding out hope that part of the O-line struggles are because the Defensive line is stacked. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit concerned.

Look at Rodgers being all better than Brett Farve

You raise a good point though. Jets defensive line is a pack of rabid dogs. You're not facing that kind of opponent every week and you have to hope the reps against a great D line will carry over to games.
