Lillard isn’t 25. Heat are renting a player for a good two years and who knows what else after that.

Keep the young bucks. Give 'em Herro, Duncan.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Not really. Tyler doesn't really have any other options. He knows as much as everyone his value around the league is low. It's not like if he demands a trade there's gonna be a lineup. If Dame doesn't work out, Tyler and Heat would be stuck together for atleast one season. His agent would advise him keep your head down and prove everyone else wrong for atleast one season. Then if he has a good season he can start asking out. So I don't a foresee a situation where Herro is being a malcontent in the locker-room. That only works if you have options

That's a Heat problem, not a Tyler problem, there are teams willing to trade for him with the Heat clearly being desperate right now. The problem is nothing we can get would replace his contributions if things go scorched Earth. We don't even make the play-in this year without Tyler so what exactly is the plan with some random bum and a future 1st next to an aging Jimmy and Bam?

The problem with this argument is that the whole world knew that was the dumbest trade in history for the wolves!! It has not been repeated since… not even for KD.

Edit: just read your response ICC… we on the same page!

Not making any argument, other than our offer is not enough. Like it or not, the Gobert trade set precedence that affected the market last year and continues to affect it. That’s why teams want 150 picks in every trade now.

Gobert was considered a massive overpay not to be repeated league wide.
Durant offer is a better representation and even then Durant considered by most to be worth more than Lillard as a 6'-10" wing that actually can at least play defense. Small guards do not gain that type of value as they age, because their drop off is significant in their latent years. If you feel that were undervaluing him, then there would be 3-4 offers from others right now completely annihilating Miami's offer. At a minimum a contender doesn't need to get him, but just to screw us and force every last nickel out of our pockets they would present an offer that trumps ours, nobody has. Chances are nobody will, were bidding against ourselves.

Agreed. However, the Gobert trade still impacted the market and continues to do so. If it didn’t, Dame would be in South beach right now.

Dame has gone all in for us. We have to acquire him, it’d reflect terribly on us if this doesn’t come to fruition.

Lillard liked a tweet asking Portland to sell the team to Phil Knight. Lol. He really not vybing with their ownership/FO.

If Jazz end up in this trade I hope we can snag Olynyk from them.

Brooklyn seems the natural fit, I’d be surprised if he’s going anywhere else.

Yup. After he was spotted working out with Simmons you have to think that Herro to BK portion of the deal is already agreed to verbally. Portland dragging this

Not necessarily. Ben is in Miami and quite possible the two of them are just cool.

While I do agree on some level, but for the most part we dont "owe" Dame anything. He's a guy who has expressed a strong desire to play for us sure but really it's more up the Blazers to take care of their player than us to just blindly agree to the Blazers unreasonable trade demands.

This is true and it's why i believe the move will happen. NBA will just respect the move as a top 75 guy wanting to get a little spicy ala Barkley

But what if Riley wants Harden?

Bam
Love
Jimmy
Jrich
Harden

Woof

I think the deals already done. NBA just spacing out the content to remain the focus over the whole offseason. They'll wait for Summer League to be over and either drop a Harden trade if it's happening and let people talk about that for a few days then they'll drop the Dame trade and that will get people taking about the NBA through till training camp.

I really hope if the deal is with BKN and Portland, I hope BKN are sending out DFS and O'Neale and not just Dinwiddie. If it's DFS/ONeale then we can send Lowry instead of Robinson and we'd likely receive O'Neale and at minimum an additional 3.8mil to be able to add to the like 4.4mil we have currently under the 2nd apron to fill out the roster. We could also move O'Neale somewhere else to fill a greater position of need.

If its Dinwiddie we'd lose Robinson and only get a minimum of 1.8mil additional salary.

I'd prefer if Herro ends up in Utah, very far from our Eastern Conference.

Hell no, Ainge doesn't get to benefit from us polishing Herro's game and especially at a relative discount to what Herro should be worth. Ainge can kick rocks or overpay if he wants Herro.

I was going to say what an odd workout couple those two are (extreme confidence/none), but I guess it would work fine. Herro can take all the shots and Simmons can retrieve the ball and pass it back to him when he misses.
