Mik, grinding on summer league games is a bit much, even for you.

Huge discrepancies in rebounding and assists for multiple games = These players lack fundamentals and Hines sucks lol

Everyone sucked in the 4th. Ultimately, a lot of guys played well for us overall today. Terq with the best game of his life.

Springer living at the line in SL is a very, very good thing.

Springer is kinda like a mini Butler. If he can just become a decent 3PT shooter that’s a valuable player.

He needs to learn the tricks Jimmy does to create space like using his legs effectively to create space. His moves are still too vanilla for now

Magic made a mistake with Anthony Black

They’re realizing he’s Elfrid Payton 2.0

While it is only summer league; it’s shocking that a guy who couldn’t shoot in college showed up to the NBA and still couldn’t shoot. Baffling.

I feel like aside from Wagner, the Magic have been pretty abysmal at drafting.

I think that's all they really want.

Black is 6'7" and his defensive, rebounding, and passing numbers in SL have been fantastic. They have their scoring core already on the roster. They just need a versatile, do-it-all wing with a great attitude and that's what Black is.

Offensively, he was a mediocre at best prospect with no established shooting so they had to know what they were signing up for.

Black is a connector piece with "upside". I think they wanted Ausar Thompson for a similar role.

them being stacked with forwards and bigs made it so that he and similar level guard prospects was all they could take IMO. Fultz and Anthony are also set to be paid soon so I expect them to trade them if any of Suggs or Black take a step soon.

They have their two main scorers in place...adding more guys who want to be the man can create issues.

that being said...main ball handlers who can't shoot is rough to build with as we know very well

Look how awful the prospects picked in the first round are performing in the SL. In terms of guard/wings, you've got the Thompson twins and Keyonte George looking strong. And in terms of bigs, Lively looks great as a dunk and block C. Other than that, these guys are struggling.

Victor Wembanyama: 40.7% from the field (garbage!)
Brandon Miller: 38.1% from the field
Scoot Henderson: 38.5% from the field
Amen Thompson: 46.2% from the field
Ausar Thompson: 45.2% from the field
Anthony Black: 40.6% from the field
Bilal Coulibaly: 37.5% from the field
Jarace Walker: 36.7% from the field
Taylor Hendricks: n/a
Cason Wallace: 32.4% from the field
Jett Howard: 38.5% from the field
Dereck Lively: 75% from the field
Grady Dick: 36.4% from the field
Jordan Hawkins: 29.1% from the field
Kobe Bufkin: 31.6% from the field
Keyonte George: 45.7% from the field
Jalen Hood-Schifino: 37.7% from the field
Jaime Jaquez: 42.9% from the field
Brandin Podziemski: 32.8% from the field
Cam Whitmore: 44.9% from the field
Noah Clowney: 25.9% from the field
Dariq Whitehead: n/a
Kris Murray: 40.5% from the field
Olivier-Maxence Prosper: 40% from the field
Marcus Sasser: 31% from the field
Ben Sheppard: 33.3% from the field
Nick Smith: 41% from the field
Brice Sensabaugh: n/a
Julian Strawther: 31.7% from the field
Kobe Brown: 32.4% from the field

At the 6th pick, unless he's a top flight distributor AND defender (looking at you Ben Simmons), I'm not taking him.

I'd rather swing for the fences on attributes that yield a superstar at 6 than go for a versatile role player. Gradey Dick would have made more sense to me.

eh some guys only played in 1 or 2 games and % isn't everything for the summer league.... Curry shot like **** too for example. Its about not looking overwhelmed more than anything. Its a new level but its also full of tryhards trying to make it and teams of dudes thrown together in less than a week.

You still don't want to see your 1st round pick missing nearly 70% of their shots, though. This class seems to be underperforming compared to past classes.
