Herro averaged 20/5/4 in the last 2 seasons, Suggs 10/3/3, but well, Suggs is one year younger, so he will become a HoF...

POR wants 4 1sts and young talented players on rookie deals. MIA willing to give 3 picks and Herro, but need to find a taker for Herro to secure another 1st and a young player.

We could give DEN 1st or our own 1st + Suggs to Portland for Herro. MIA gets Lillard. POR gets Suggs and 4 1sts.
Suggs is better than Herro if he stays healthy. So I'm sure Portland would go for it.

Somehow I feel like if Herro was on our team, your feels would be flipped. Only the imagination of what Suggs could be is better than Herro.

atm they arent even in the same galaxy

Suggs is a top 20 defender, and Herro isn't a top 20 anything. If Suggs were healthy and played the same number of minutes, I believe he would impact winning more.

i could see trading a 1st for Herro, though some guard trades would have to be made after that.

but im not on board with 1-2 firsts + Suggs. Miami needs help, we dont need to just throw in extra on top to help them. i still remember them making us pay draft picks for Stan who they sent home so that Riley could come back and coach.

That ranking justification means absolutely nothing. It's neither here or there. Who cares if Suggs is a top 20 defender but can't shoot or dribble? He was a #5 pick of the draft and couldn't even beat out Gary Harris for the starting job. His flaws are THAT glaring.

Especially now when the league has been overtaken by powerful offenses, scoring totals higher than ever before. Offense is trumping defense. Having a good defensive SG is not really that critical. You need interior defense. Suggs isn't gonna stop Jaylen Brown, James Harden, or Jimmy Butler from going off... but can he at least offset some of their offense? Right now, no.

He couldn't beat out Harris because he had a lingering ankle injury, and he was on minutes restriction.

That's how he lost his job. He was gone for 18 games and could never get his job back. Minutes restriction or benched?

I hope he turns into a good player. I really do. He cannot hold a torch to Herro right now though.

I'm just thinking about Herro, Harris, Cole, and Fultz being the guard rotation, and I couldn't help laughing. Opposing guards would be dropping 50 every other game.

I would think it is more like Anthony, G-Harris, and the Denver 1st for Herro, and Miami spare change.
But as before, the Heat and Magic are not natural trading partners for such a deal.

what about Black and Herro in the back court? and i dont remember guards dropping 50 with Lowry/Herro. i get it isnt a top backcourt defensively, but even GSW made Curry/Poole work.

Would love Herro as our obvious starter at SG. Also, love Suggs & Black off the bench (for now at least).

I don’t understand the level of disregard for Herro. Legit 3 level, 20ppg scorer (on good teams) since he hit the league. Good with the ball, offensive initiator and Sooooo available. Give up our 24 frp (top 6 or 8 just in case) & throw that Den pick on top so somebody in POR can hold up the “I got xxx# of frps- regardless of what they really become). Throw in all the srps too…the kid is a baller and precisely what we’re missing…

i dont see him as a 3 level scorer. to me, he is a shooter. more than half his shots are 3 pt shots. he has also had injuries every year in the league.

Ok I see the value Hero but you can't compare Black to Curry :D

im not talking about the offense but the defense. Neither Curry nor Poole are good defenders

We still have fans that think JI will come back and play DPOY level… there’s homers everywhere.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.
