One thing i notice is a lot of these kids know how to score but does not develop a well rounded game, 20-3-3 type statline. Or maybe just the nature of combo guards and how most of these guys are combo guards

You get guys like tari eason and dillon brooks trying to develop stepback jumpers. Even Ben Simmons was practicing step back jumpers in his latest vid

Steph might be the best player of the 2010s, but he lowkey set the sport back because of the influence he had on playstyle. Now everyone tries to emulate him and all they're doing is missing field goals and turning the ball over. Even freaking 7 footers.

I definitely think too many players have the Steph green light these days. I feel like that has to be earned but it’s basically given out to any guard with a pulse now.

The real issue with threes comes from bad teams tho since it’s such a variance driver. A bad team can have a good shooting night so there’s a lot of incentive for subpar talent to get up a lot of attempts. I think we’ve stabilized at 35 3pa per game for teams across the league so it’ll be interesting to see where we go from here.

I think Jabari Smith is going to start showing out this year. Still feel like he'll be better than Banchero.

Jokic and Giannis licking their chops thinking about how many more titles they can cash-in this decade, in this era of garbage shot selection.

You don't have to : banghead :, it's objectively correct. Just accept Jabari will be better.

Jaylen Brown extension talks paused. Brown and the C's have such a weird relationship.

Jaylen Brown runs his mouth and is too opinionated and rubs a lot of people in authority the wrong way, so I think that's why they're so hesitant to get married to him.

I also believe Brown is not a fan of the racist celtics fans as quiet as its kept. I also thinks he's second guessing if he wants to play second fiddle to Tatum for the rest of his prime.

Brown is also clearly not worth the supermax. Saltics know it. And he’s threatening to leave if he doesn’t get it. Tough spot… too bad!

But isn't that when those types of shots are usually taken (aside from Harden and Steph)? And wouldn't that require some practicing if there are actual circumstances in which you'd need to take a space creating shot?

I think the only additional tournament the NBA should create is to decide on the draft order. With the play-in excluding those fringe playoff teams, 10 teams in the East and in the West would compete to win the top slot in the NBA draft. Would end tanking, force the worst teams to make winning moves in free agency so they don't get slaughtered in the tournament, and it would keep fans engaged even if their team blows ass.

Either that or relegation, a la soccer. Turn G League teams into eligible NBA teams lol.

I think this year, the only team that was markedly better than the rest of the bottom 20 teams was the Mavericks and that's because they blatantly tanked their season.

The Jaylen Brown situation might end up being an example where the Celtics should have traded him earlier. They’ve had a lot of playoff success so it’s tough to break up that core but they’re probably gonna end up trading him at his lowest value due to the contract & his weaknesses getting exposed.

I think the Dame situation is gonna backfire on him & the Heat. I’m starting to get Melo vibes from the situation where he signed the contract which forced the Knicks to trade all their assets for him.

These “I’ll only play in one place” trades usually end up with a massive trade haul. It happened with Melo, KD, AD, etc.

I'd actually watch that. The mid-season idiocy is pure gimmick - I'd be embarrassed if the Sixers won that ridiculous thing.

The only possible issue with yours is the motivation of most players to compete for a higher pick - unless there is a nice cash award to go with the higher pick the team gets.

That's fair, but I think what players generally find out when they're on terrible teams is that the only way to become competitive in this league is to have stars on your team, which should serve as motivation.

That said, risking injury for a draft pick is kind of a hard pill to swallow. I would, however watch the **** out of that tourney. I'm already watching the SL and that's pretty bad basketball.
