Great game overall. I like the way Dudley calls out plays. It's decisive and energetic. The whole team is driven to a higher level of plays.

OMax is an absolutely steal in draft. Lively has also improved steadily. Lively really listens and adjusts a lot. By the time Lively has a clear mindset, the level of plays should be similar to Chet who has improved significantly these few games. Of course, gym work is still needed. Against the small ball lineup, Lively has to move vertically and laterally to take the best position to operate on both end. Good job. Keep up.

Teams should regret taking Hendericks, Walker or Coullabul in front of OMax now.

Lively is going to look significantly better with Luka and Kyrie.

Rudy Gobert during his time in the D-League. His body is very similar to Lively. Lively is 19 so he's expected to fill out in the next few years.

Yeah exactly, he's 19 - completely different metabolism etc still. He looks like he's ready to contribute decent minutes and easily immediately our best big defender. But when he starts filling in his frame this could get interesting.

I was kind of thinking that too. Josh was probably a little more offensively inclined though.

He's incredible on defense, doesn't quit on any play and is not afraid to play offense as well. DFS needed a lot of time to develop, i think this guy will get there much faster. I'm actually excited to see him play with main lineups.

I agree that he’s much further along than DFS was at the same point. I would not be surprised at all to see OMax get important minutes during the second half of the season. We all should expect some growing pains though. He’s still a rookie so there will be some mistakes but if he can learn from them and continue to improve he could be an impact bench player this season at some point.

What are the realistic chances that AJ Lawson can actually get some quality minutes at some point this season? He had a good game in Summer League and I know that SL means little to none. He has shown improvement though since the start of last season.

Playing behind Kyrie, Luka, Hardy, THJ, Seth and Exum will limit his minutes. Garbage minutes during blowouts at most.

There's a reason DFS went undrafted and Omax got picked in the first round. I think the only thing similar to them is their height. But Omax looks more like Patrick Williams or Deandre Hunter. If he develops well, there's no saying he cant be another OG Anunoby IMO. And saying that isn't even a reach given his height, skillset and potential.

Taze Moore signed a 10days exhibit with the Mavs.

I like it, he's nothing special, but hustles and hits the open shot, no reason to go chase the DJJs of the world who have been disappointing for 4 years, reward local G-league players and they'll pay you with dividend any time they are called.

Anybody else see a little Stephen Jackson in OMax's game?

Have to chime in on OMax. I knew he was going to be a beast on Defense but I did not know he was going to be able to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket on his own. He is a totally different player than portrayed. He is not just a 3 and D player and we won’t be able to pigeonhole him into that role.

The man is even bringing the ball up the court and making plays with success.

I really missed DFS on defense but that’s gone. OMax will get solid minutes and I’m assuming he’ll improve during training camp, he actually might just force his way to big minutes due to his skill set.

I hope he he tightens his handle and works on his shot. He is going to be a very unexpected problem for opposing teams.

OMax looks like a very skilled player, we will see if he can translate his game to NBA level.

I'm not surprise if he will crack the rotation after the ASG.

Atlanta just takes Lively out of the post via tempo and mismatches. Adjustments have to be made. OMax should get better focus. Stay calm and make the right plays.

So, teams keep using small ball to resolve Lively. No answer?

Better paint defense is required.

Dudley needs to coach Omax to slow down. Looks like he's trying to do too much out there.
