It sounds to me like that realization came a couple of years ago.

Seems like he’s matured a lot since he left here. Good for him.

Saw that last night as well. It's got to be humbling when you're treated like a star and then vet mins the very next year

Yeah, that is a phenomenal snipit. That's the kinda leadership you *hope* your vets are bringing to the table. Perspective and truth.

Dre was never a bad guy when he was here, but there were a lot of questions about his maturity. Unfortunate it took him a while to figure things out, but it's actually kinda impressive to come around and speak that particular truth after already having made his 100 mil. That dude is set for life - he could retire and disappear. But he's actually trying to help others through some of the struggles he personally experienced, and I have nothing but respect for that.

The guy is only 29. IF he follows through with this on the court I don't see why he wouldn't have a bigger role right now (he only averaged 12.7 minutes last year). I love the message though.

Having a good attitude, being a good teammate and understanding your role are all important. But you also still need to have the drive and the work ethic. Sounds like Dre has matured emotionally, but his overall motor/drive may still be at play. How in shape is he this year?

I think it's fair to say that IF he walks the walk, then you are probably correct. At 29 the dude can definitely still have an impact. I don't know if he ever really loved the game though. He might be one of these oddballs who has more of an impact as a player development coach despite impressive physical gifts. Is he passionate about bball, or is he passionate about helping others?

Just speculating here. I find the whole thing very interesting, but I wanna say he almost seemed more engaged in that clip than he did at any point actually playing the game.

Braxton’s a NBA player. Not a good one, but decent enough to have a career.

I'm so sick of "journalists" always talking **** about Isiah. Ever since "The Last Prance", it's the currency of the moment.

Many have been complaining about it during SL, and those couldn't all been curse words, because it's the same with "NBA Today"

"At times, viewers may witness a temporary loss in sound or blurring of video on ESPN.com. The blurring/muting is required to honor the digital rights ESPN has been granted for the content which - in rare cases - differs from those rights granted for traditional television usage."
