Re: Welcome to Boston, Jay Scrubb!
I like it. Good pickup. Just the type of guy you get on a 2-way. I actually didn't realize he was still only 22. I thought he was 24 for some reason.
At 22, he still has some upside. It wouldn't shock me if he ends up playing some meaningful mins at some point for us - either this season or the one after that.
Bottom line. The guy knows how to get a bucket. He can score on drives to the basket and he can hit the 3. He's got solid quickness and athleticism, decent handle.
We now have 1 two-way left. I'm assuming the last one will be someone with more size, since JD is is a 6'3" PG and Scrubb is a 6'4" wing.

Well deserved. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Like the signing too, just, please, don't go small-ball on that team. I don't want to see Walsh playing PF when they have him down there.

Re: Welcome to Boston, Jay Scrubb!
Not surprising. Scrubb has clearly been our second best player on the SL squad.

JD and Scrubb will be a really fun backcourt in Maine.

love it. Very happy for him. He's a very skilled and natural scorer. If he was 2-3 inches taller and longer he'd be a problem and likely starter. If a guy like Divencezo at a similar size can carve out an NBA career than no reason Scrubb can't as well.

Heard he was sitting in the passenger side of his best friend’s ride trying to holler at Brad when the signing happened

Great -- good move. I've said this before, but he reminds me of Tupac in "Above the Rim", and also he is a bit of a bucket -- his driving/finishing game *might* translate to the NBA, but will at least be useful in Maine!

Re: Welcome to Boston, Jay Scrubb!
I was hoping the Celtics would sign him even though they suddenly have a lot of young wings. I hope Hauser is working on all aspects of his game. Last season he had less competition.

Re: Welcome to Boston, Jay Scrubb!
I was bummed when he didn’t want to stay with the Clippers on a 2-way contract.
He’s not only a bucket but nice energy spark too.
Wish him the best.

True. He probably played harder, with more urgency and aggressiveness than anyone on our SL team, other than Walsh.

He earned it. Maybe we get lucky this time & this guy ends up being a spark plug off the bench

Re: Welcome to Boston, Jay Scrubb!
Here is a little history lesson for our friends in green.
The Nets drafted Scubb back in 2020. One of our players at the time TLC came out and said " I don't want no Scrubbs". And that was that.
Anyway, two guys get on the bus dragging a dead alligator..................

Re: Welcome to Boston, Jay Scrubb!
Too good for the g league; not ready for the nba. If he can be consistent with his outside shot and prove himself more defensively however; he should make a roster next off season
