Yeah, trading Jaylen Brown for addition by subtraction is just crazy talk.

Let's pretend the Celtics were willing to trade him now. As others have said, I think it's the right move and tbh the return wouldn't be any worse than if we tried to trade him while he's making $50-60 million with his extension. I don't think it's quite addition by subtraction. Even I wouldn't sell Jaylen that short. But I disagree with people saying we wouldn't get good value even with him being on an expiring and due to make bank after the season. Expiring contracts by themselves are valuable. A tanking team could showcase him for half the season and trade him to a contender for a boat load of picks and maybe a young player. ORL, OKC, UT, WA and POR would work. We, unfortunately, cannot do that ourselves since we'll be in contention, by they could. Now, what would that be worth to these teams? And a team on the verge might have a few compelling pieces to make it worth our while and would either not care if Jaylen leaves or are prepared to offer him the max and hope he stays. I still think the moves that make the most sense for everyone are for Dejounte, Siakam or Lillard

But, if he REALLY wanted to convince teams to take another chance on him, he'd be playing in summer league instead of holding workouts.

I hope there's someone on the team that will still bag on JT's left.

You would think by now that o k c would use some of those draft assets to get a decent veteran on that team...

I am not suggesting they over Pay like Houston Has done. But one solid high level veteran would go a long way
