Didn’t even realize the early Gametime until your post.

Hopefully I can record the games and watch them later. Anyone know where these will be televised?

Hope will not have Usa vs Italy at some point cause the proto-racist polemic here would be unbearable

What is everyone’s expectation for Paolo and Franz? Not super familiar with Joe, Mo, and Goga so I don’t know what they have done for their team but as older players (how old is Goga?) I would think their roles are set. For Franz, I know that Germany play team ball, but I want Franz to be more aggressive, rebound better and get to the free throw line. For Paolo, I just want him to be able to learn from his peers, have a great attitude if he is coming off the bench, and be a spark plug for team USA. Also, did he automatically make the team or is he trying out? Not sure how Team USA pick the players. Hopefully all players stay safe.

Expectation? Nothong for Paolo. Lets be realistic, he is a *big* and that he is best at 1-on-1. Problem with that is he is a rookie so you know the pecking order will have him at the bottom.

Kind of like with Dwight during team USA, we will be lucky to see him more than 10mins a night.

Franz on the othet hand I expect him to be the *star* of their team. Most minutes and always have the ball... that is unless Schroeder goes full kobe trying to raise his nba value.

There isn't a FIBA world cup every season.

And-1

Defending Champions Spain are #1 in the word-rankings, but I would not call them particularly strong. It is a really open field in my opinion.

Last summer for Franz and other European players was EuroBasket which is run by FIBA Europe and exclusive to European countries.

This summer is the FIBA World Cup.

Next summer is the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The next EuroBasket is set for 2025. The next FIBA World Cup is set for 2027.

It's very likely that Franz will represent Germany for the next several summers in a row since he's the best active player from the country.

Yeah, I hope he’s not too disappointed that he won’t be featured like he would have been on the Italian team. And I hope that no one on team USA promised him that to get him on the team.

I thought you guys might like this video. :) It begins at 5:05

I will say, I know there has been a ton of great scorers this past season that is on Team USA roster but a lot of it has to do with the inflated, no defensive schemes we saw in the NBA. I don't expect anyone, even Shai on the Canadian side, to be able to score that much on the international level. But I do hope to see growth from all these players coming out of FIBA.

Edit: I changed the video to give credit to the actual channel that uploaded it. Didn't realize that the first one was a pirated version. I only watched the Team USA portion of the video, sorry if the other minutes are not decent. The first video I did post was strictly just that version and I then found the ESPN version which was longer.
