His impact on winning is nowhere near his reputation. If he's unwilling to take less just ship him out. Can't lose him for nothing. He's a borderline TOP 25 player in the league. He should get no more than $35-40M a year. Pay him $59M a year and it's gonna be impossible to build a winner around Tatum moving forward.
There's no Jaylen Brown trade with 1 year left that makes you better, unless you trade him for Dame
You can just trade him next year when he's on a long-term deal
If the Player is over-paid in the first place with this super max deal, you would think his trade value would take a hit, no?
I say you move him now for better talent if the right deal is there

If you think Brown is a legit star than trading him is a big loss. I think it's addition by subtraction. A lot of players could average 25 points on this Celtics team if they got 20 shots every night playing next to Tatum.
Jaylen on a 5 year $300M contract will have less value next summer than on an expiring today. Brown's new deal will start just over $50M. With the new matching rules Celtics will have to take back at least $45M in salary next summer. What do people think will be coming back next summer? Someone on a great deal, blue chips rookie scale guys?
Hell no. He will be seen as a Beal, Poole, Herro. Guys that get you 20 a night but are overpaid. Market has been set. Guys that will be on the table for him will be Towns, LaVine, maybe Trae Young. Trash in, trash out.
So you would trade him now?
The player has his chance to shine in game 7, he didn’t . He is no Scottie Pippin
I build around Tatum, not sign Brown to any mega deal

I don't think Jaylen Brown is worth a supermax.
I think saying addition by subtraction with him is pretty nuts. He's extremely flawed. He has some terrible, terrible moments defensively and ball-handling wise. I think he is overrated. But addition by subtraction is crazy talk to me. Like banana-land ****.
Like I'll break this down for the fans who want Jaylen Brown gone right now: De'Andre Hunter is the best player you will realistically get. Ask yourself, why would Chicago trade LaVine on a long-term deal for Jaylen? Why would the Hawks trade Trae for him? MAYBE KAT but he's on a supermax too, and the only reason they'd do that is his fit with Rudy stinks. So probably Hunter. If you think trading Jaylen for Hunter makes this team better, I have a bridge to sell you.
IF you sign Jaylen and trade him next summer: you're right, teams gotta match salary. Maybe you flip Jaylen/KP and every pick you have for Luka. Or Embiid. Maybe you trade Jaylen for TWO role players like De'Andre Hunter, not just one.
If you don't like Jaylen Brown, that's fine. But on asset management purposes, trading him now is a disaster. There's no other way to put it.
If you think trading De'Andre Hunter for Jaylen Brown makes the Celtics a better team, be my guest. It's delusional, but be my guest.

Yup. Been waiting for a good news when we finally trade his ass out.

DeAndre hunter lol. Brown for hunter would be ridiculous. That won’t be the deal, so stop it with that jeez. Hunter is a role player. More like a horford, Rob type of player. I would definitely trade Jaylen for Lavine or Trae if they are available, obviously Trae is untouchable.

Hunter is the best player you will realistically get for Jaylen.
Jaylen can't extend with a team that trades for him for 6 months, so he almost 100% will hit UFA. You think a team is going to trade a premium asset for him when he can do that?
Chicago won't trade a locked-up Zach Lavine for Jaylen who can walk. Atlanta might with Trae because he might re-sign there, but what if things go south and he walks? It's not feasible. Even Dejounte Murray is extended now so you can't get him.
Guys like Hunter will be offered because Hunter is average and overpaid but not completely valueless, but isn't a premium asset.
Your only hope is that some sucker team gives you premium draft assets that you can flip for Dame, mainly because that team thinks they can re-sign Jaylen.
