Dexter Dennis is a pretty good player. He's probably the best prospect on orlando (who played in tonight's game)

He probably won't get a 2-way. But it wouldn't shock me if he gets signed to the Maine celtics.

It seems like he wants to move on from the Hungary League.

The Valerio part is Dominican btw. We probably tend to make too much of these things, but, Horford...

We went 2-3 in SL. Not bad. Considering we didn't have that good of a roster. Decent summer league.

Obviously the big story is that we learned more about Walsh and what he can potentially contribute. Clearly, he has some potential - he could certainly contribute this season and in years 2, 3 and 4 (he's got a 4 year contract) he could definitely end up being a solid role player for us long term.

Love how hard he plays, how he cheers on his teammates - even in a meaningless SL game.

Just watched the game and glad they went out strong like this — summer league Celtic RESERVES gave it their all tonight and really worked hard.

No overreactions to a bench SL game here, but JD showed some nice flashes, Walsh continued to show a nice all-around game, and my binky Azubuike continued to be physically huge. Kissonlol was kind of goofily effective and VVB has a nice game but is small and weak for this level — got completely blown up physically several times, on his way to 6 TOs and several drives that ended closer to getting hurt than getting a bucket.

GOOD SUMMER for a not-very-good team. Onward!

Fire this coach.. This kid might be good enough to have been a summer league Starter.. And now we have no idea..

Probably many of us have an idea.
Kid had a nice game in terms of scoring the ball but also had 6 TOs in 25 minutes, many due to being completely outmatched physically by ORLs SL second and third stringers. Maybe that’s not what coach Dobbins was looking for.

You complained for days about VVB not getting a chance to play, and this is how the team got him that opportunity. I doubt it was Champaigne’s decision.

Walsh did everything you wanted to see out of him, and a little more. JD looked his best in this game. He and Scrubb make sense as 2-ways. Everyone else, thank you for your service. VVB could be interesting in another year or so. Wouldn't hate if he was the last 2-way, wouldn't hate if he's not.

For the Red Claws? Or you like being wrong? Or you're kidding?

If Brogdon is still on the team and ready to play when the season starts, the 6th man of the year with be our 6th man.

This was one of our worst SL teams in a long time. Walsh had the green light to shoot. He might have a hard time scoring in the NBA for now. He has to get bigger and strong and do a better job of rebounding. That being said, I like his offensive potential. His defense and energy will be a welcome addition whenever he becomes a part of the 9 man rotation. The sooner the better.

Good win.

Best game of SL for us.

Walsh started off really slow, going 0-4 in the beginning of the game. Then he settled down and had a really good rest of the 1st half.

JD was decent. Made some really good passes. This might have been his best SL game this year.

Scrubb had his worst game of the 5 he played in. He didn't play in the 2nd half after starting for the first time.

Vincent Valerio-Bodon finally played. He was a difference maker. 13 points on 8 shots, 6 rebounds and made some good passes. But he was also very careless with the ball, with 6 TOs. But I really liked he floor spacing he gave the team soon as he came in.

Reggie Kissoonlal also finally played in SL and gave us a big lift in the 1st half, hitting back to back 3s.

Bean and Baldwin played well too. So did Azubuike.

I'll take your money...

But I agree, the kid has done everything you could reasonably hope of him in Summer League.
If he gets even regular minutes of any kind next season, it's a pretty great get, considering we traded down, and are playing for the chip. Second Rounders are generally crapshoots.

Walsh looked great - especially for a second round pick. However, he does not look ready to contribute at NBA level just yet. He looks like he could be a great team defender with disruptive length but he is going to get abused by Tatum and Brown as an individual defender in training camp. As a man to man defender his foot speed is slow and clumsy - I think it can and will get better as it’s common for 19 year olds to struggle defensively. On offense he needs to be smoother with his catch and shoot and more consistent with mechanics. Ditto with his dribbling and passing. Can he get where he needs to be by February this year? Maybe. I think he has the talent to do so and he seems to have the right mix of enthusiasm and drive to do the work and not get discouraged.

I have little hope for rest of squad. Olek might be a guy who can be the next Kornet. JD took a step back in my opinion which reminds me more of guys like Langford and Young than talented guys who figure it out. Scrubs is probably the next Dionte Christmas. Uzibuke is terrible.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

"next year" means 16 months from now, not 4 months. I am doubling down. Walsh will be the first off the bench by then. whether Brogdon is there or not!

And he seems like a kid who will get bigger and stronger and certainly keeps working on his overall game. You can't underestimate the need to have a high energy player who will "guard anyone" with blind passion.

We are in July of 2023. Next year is 5 months away.

Then you're also changing from Walsh being our sixth man to Walsh being the first off the bench. He could be first off the bench and still only play 10 minutes a game. I thinking you are overestimating him and underestimating Brogdon.

Walsh is a 19th year old kid. Give him time to grow and develop without super high expectations.

Hunter Tyson is officially on my list of under-the-radar players. He knows how to play and his shot is deadly. Alas, he belongs to the Nuggets.
