A lot of Tyler Herro apologists coming out of the woodwork on the Heat media side the last day or two. Feels like the team is covering it's back in case no deal gets done lol

Watching the Nets get a gentleman sweep of Celtics with Tatum looking amazing sucked. I don’t care if the ball movement is less pretty. I’ll take deep runs in the playoffs every day and that is what we get with Brown. The Celtics agree which is why they are going to pay 305 million dollars to keep him in green.

1) We lost in 5 to the nets with Tatum, Nesmith, Grant, Tristan Thompson, Smart, Fournier, Romeo Langford, Pritchard and Jabari Parker. Most of those guys are out of the league now..plus bad knees Kemba and hobbled Rob who played some but missed games that series. Also, Tatum was only 23 then.

That's a VERY different team than Tatum, Porzingis, White, Rob, Al, Brogdon, Hauser and the 1-2 quality players we'd get in return for JB. Plus, Tatum will be 26 during our next playoff run.

2021 was the last year under Ainge. As has been discussed on here many times, Ainge's last couple of years here, he was really losing his touch - made lots of head scratching moves, did not have a deep enough team, etc. Brad has done a much better job at building a winning roster, with pieces that fit together, with depth. I'm confident that if Brad did pull the trigger on a JB trade, the final product would be a *really* good roster that would move the ball beautifully.

That was also Brad's last season as coach. Multiple reports have indicated that Brad lost the locker room that season and he just didn't want to keep coaching anymore.

2) I'd rather win a championship than have a deep playoff run and come up empty. Not once in the past 22 years has the NBA title been won by a team with 2 high usage (30% or higher), low assist (under 25%) players.

3) JB hasn't signed the contract yet, and I've seen nothing to indicate the Celtics have offered him a contract for that type of money

I could link the actual article but it's paywalled. It's been reported multiple places though that we've offered the full supermax.

"expected to offer" and actually did offer are 2 different things. If we actually offered it to him, he probably would've signed it by now, instead of going on a trip to Europe.

When this is over Lillard will be wearing a Miami Heat uniform. This is how it always ends up. Players have too much power.

Maybe there is a GM out there that agrees with your viewpoint. Brad does not appear to be of them. JB is getting the supermax to stay in Boston for a long long time.

We'll see. He hasn't signed it yet..he was eligible to sign it 15 days ago.

Bane, Lamelo, Haliburton and Edwards all signed their max extensions as soon as they possibly could.

JB just went on a trip to Europe..

This is good. Portland stuck to their demands and will not back down.

Tyler Herro may lead the Heat in human suffering, but still, my guess is he'll be ok.

I didn’t know you could have three teams involved in a pick swap.

Payne would have been a solid depth add but not sure if the money worked out with the Grant TPE, not sure what his salary was. Oh well.

Oh please. How are we treating him? Like we don't want to supermax him? And wouldn't mind trading him in the right deal? No, I don't see anything wrong with that.. Because there is nothing wrong with that.

Lol you know damn well that's not what I'm talking about. If you can't tell the difference between valid criticism and baseless hate idk what to tell ya.

I think this one is one that was unswapped. But I kind of like the strategy of selling multiple swaps for value. If a team knows it’s going all in and isn’t valuing the pick, might as well double or triple down what they get for it.

Esp with the new apron rules and they plan on overspending into spot 30 anyways. If that’s the plan it’s almost silly not to trade five swaps on it.

Cam Payne and Devonte Graham are two names to watch as buyout candidates for San Antonio due to a roster crunch. Both would add some depth to the FA point guard market
