If Brogdon is still on the team and ready to play when the season starts, the 6th man of the year with be our 6th man.

This was one of our worst SL teams in a long time. Walsh had the green light to shoot. He might have a hard time scoring in the NBA for now. He has to get bigger and strong and do a better job of rebounding. That being said, I like his offensive potential. His defense and energy will be a welcome addition whenever he becomes a part of the 9 man rotation. The sooner the better.

"next year" means 16 months from now, not 4 months. I am doubling down. Walsh will be the first off the bench by then. whether Brogdon is there or not!

And he seems like a kid who will get bigger and stronger and certainly keeps working on his overall game. You can't underestimate the need to have a high energy player who will "guard anyone" with blind passion.

We are in July of 2023. Next year is 5 months away.

Then you're also changing from Walsh being our sixth man to Walsh being the first off the bench. He could be first off the bench and still only play 10 minutes a game. I thinking you are overestimating him and underestimating Brogdon.

Walsh is a 19th year old kid. Give him time to grow and develop without super high expectations.

You are getting way to technical... If a player is first off the bench on a regular basis, he's not getting ten minutes a game

Plus the season starts in 2023..next season will start in 2024..

And since I am talking about 16 or months from now I think there's a far greater chance Malcolm will not even be here then will.

Fire this coach.. This kid might be good enough to have been a summer league Starter.. And now we have no idea..

Probably many of us have an idea.
Kid had a nice game in terms of scoring the ball but also had 6 TOs in 25 minutes, many due to being completely outmatched physically by ORLs SL second and third stringers. Maybe that’s not what coach Dobbins was looking for.

They knew he was a big fish in a small pond when they asked him to come out. Better to play the young athletic raw kid with upside over guys like Bean who wont be more than G league fodder.

This Announcing Crew. = Don't give them a Contract.

You have small time college announcers pouring over rosters to make sure they get names right and learning as much as they can. These two seemed to just show up 10 minutes before and wing it

I liked Vincent VALERIO-BODON in the few minutes he played. I thought he was really good as a connector.

One thing I try to avoid is feeling like I -- from my couch or office -- know more than the coaching staff. Others do otherwise, hence playa's comment "fire this coach" which I was responding to. Doesn't make for great conversation -- pretty sure Tony Dobbins' job is safe. As for the players, 22-year-old VVB looked young but not athletic, and I thought 27-year-old Bean was surprisingly good throughout, though in the last game he only got 23 minutes so VVB could get 25. Realistically: neither is likely ever going to show up in the NBA, so might as well move on.

The only SL things that mattered IMO were that Walsh looked good, JD looked like he needs at least another year in Maine, Scrubb looks like he might have made Champaigne expendable, and (maybe most importantly?) the Celtics look like they might dabble with actually playing zone(!) this season.

Robbed! All the Celtics were robbed!
(jk but I’d assume Walsh at least got a vote or two, if there’s voting for these things?)

It seems like there are quite a few responses I have to this.. Perhaps because I have quite a few sides to my personality... And perhaps because there are quite a few things that was stated.. But I think I have developed posting fatigue caused by so much Back and forth going on mainly due to Jaylen Brown in the other threads.

So at this time I choose to pass and take the high road on some of the above comments..

That's a pretty strong second team. Hard to defend everyone when they get to have 6 players on the floor.
