Aight, captain positive (lol), how do you interpret that quote? A nothing burger?

Jo is very adept with the media, he knows exactly what he's saying.

Nothing he hasn't said before lol.

Had a very similar quote to Marcus Spears around april.

Also Jo is 30 and a 7fter...those guys don't last until they are 40 like Bron lol. And if/when we flame out this year or next...then it will probably be time for him to move on anyway.

Stars don't stay on one team if they don't win there. Dirk was the last one and if they didn't win it all in 13...he probably would have left too. Hell Kobe is seen as the biggest alpha dawg lord around and he also asked for a trade at one point.

I could be wrong (won't be the first time) but I just see this as Jo seeing the end of the tunnel for the first time and attempting to use it to let the FO know that it looming. Biid for all of his flaws is very aware of how things work...its cool to play for one team all your career...its not likely. And until he asks out...I'm not going to freak out and even then I probably won't. This era is reaching its end... I thought people already knew that?

Yeah I think this is likely what it is. He's putting feelers out into the media, to send a message to Philly that he's not going to wait, and something needs to happen IMO. I think this season 100% determines his intent to stay. If we're not good by the trade deadline, I could see significant noise.

I prefer to be proactive about the end of eras.

Maybe that's just me.

maybe this will be the year Jo is not focused on getting the regular season MVP, but ECF and Finals MVPs. Save some of yourself for the playoffs, big guy, and maybe this will be the year.

Jo's at the point of his career where he wants to be carried by another player. Fair enough. Most players get there one way or another.

He's at the point of his career where he's tired of dealing with **** team building strategy.

In actual news and not fans chicken littling about a nothing quote, the team signed Tubelis to a 2-way and Petrusev to a contract. Surprised about the first but not the second as Nurse had let it slip earlier.

He's had plenty of opportunities to show that he's capable of carrying a team to a title. He's never had a good playoff series against a good team in his entire career.

So Morey doesn't value the backup center position monetarily, but values roster spots even loss. Got it.

You can only carry watery **** for so long before it slips through your fingers.

It was never a well built team.

PG: Montrezl Harrell
SG: Paul Reed
SF: Tobias Harris
PF: Joel Embiid
C: Mo Bamba

Tobias can’t play off the bench because you dont bench a $37M per year player

Cooper Flagg declaring in 2025 or 2026? I hear Flagg may declare for 2025 then Boozer for 2026.

This doesn't make any sense from a Timberwolves perspective.

Things are trending from “we’re gonna play more double bigs this year” to “we’re only gonna play double bigs this year”.

Lol, this season is going to be such trash. No wonder Jo is thinking of greener pastures.

From the article

They are not as far from irrelevance as they'd hope to be at this stage, and they don't appear to have the luxury of simply punting on this season and hoping they can take a crack at winning again in 2024-25.

I don't think Embiid wants to wait a year to get players through FA. He probably either wants Harden to stay, or assets flipped so he can continue to contend this year.
