https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2023/07/4-takeaways-from-celtics-summer-league-as-jordan-walsh-looks-like-a-steal.html
Jordan Walsh may be closer than anticipated: The second-round pick has earned plenty of accolades from scouts around the league this week, even earning a top-5 ranking from SB Nation for his play among rookies in Summer League. He knocked down 40.7 percent of his 3s over five games with a healthy volume number (5.4) so that type of production could quickly propel him into a 10th or 11th man for this team rather than a Maine developmental project. Walsh is far from a sure thing from being a factor on this year’s roster but he could be pushing for rotation minutes if Brad Stevens fails to add more depth at the wing spot via the trade market or free agency.
Justin Champagnie looks like a cut candidate: His deal is non-guaranteed until midseason but there are a number of incentive days that are upcoming including $50,000 on August 1st and another $350,000 on opening night. If Brad Stevens is serious about adding more help to the roster as he declared last week, it’s hard to see Champagnie surviving beyond training camp. The Celtics could keep him to compete for a roster spot or a two-way but he doesn’t necessarily have a skillset that would translate well for Boston on the wing given the complexion of the roster.

Show me advanced stats on Jaylen that supports he should get the highest salary in league history.
Lmfao no. Show me where’s you’ve earned giving me homework lol.
The perfect answer from someone who doesn't have an answer. There's no homework to do. Nothing indicates Jaylen should receive a supermax or be the highest paid player.

I was pounding the table for him last year. I don't really want to dedicate the time to find it again lol, but, saw an article in the spring that he was playing but stats were pretty brutal from what I recall. With Porzingis here now, I'm fine with the size of the group currently. While Rob will lose the bully battles, Al and Porzingis (with this length) I think now makes it more competitive against our most concerning big-boy center matchups.

I think Curm has mentioned an affection for Jason Preston. Just to possibly give him something POSITIVE to look forward to....

I don't know if that's true, players can make huge leaps in their late 20s seasons.
Maybe, but I blanked on that. Any Most Improved winners over the age of 25? Average age?
Adding a three point shot later is common now but probably because bigs like Horford and Lopez had never even thought to practice it..

I bet hers says he doesn't deserve the supermax, too.

idk but no one is gonna win MIP when they have already got 2nd team all-NBA and multiple all-star appearances under their belt.
Let's be real here. A dude who will be 27 this season, been in the league since age 19, has contributed to playoff teams since he was a rookie, has already been 2nd team all-NBA, multiple all-star appearances - a dude like that is not gonna improve very much at this point. I'm not saying he's already reached his ceiling, but he's likely very close to his ceiling at this point.

I'm curious to see if Brad decides to stick with Pritchard, or not. On one hand he's on a good contract this season, he knows how to play, and he's unafraid of the moment. On the other hand, he's small, gets hunted, and doesn't exactly align with where things seem to be going from a "positionless" roster construction. Even without Smart on the roster, I still see very limited minutes available for PP.

I personally think the Celtics will trade Brogdon and keep and extend Pritchard. Just a guess. Who knows? We will see.
D White extension in my mind is a given.

Holmes replacement.
Lame offseason by both the Sixers and Heat (if they don't get Dame).
