We really missed Miles last year. He and LaMelo were the engine of our offense.

" best husband ever" directed at PJ

PJ's wife just posted this on Twitter right when miles is press conference started. That's either some hilarious timing, or some serious shade.

Waiting for Boone and Scott Fowler to post updates. Dont guess that's going to happen.

Guess this means new ownership is prepared to give Miles a big contract next summer if he returns to form:

I will be so pissed off if he leaves us high and dry. With that being said I do think he wants to be here but Hornets are taking all of the risk and shame for another team to reap reward if he does leave. Also we can't even trade him to wherever we want without his approval lol

None of the California team will have the cap space to give him the contract he's going to ask for. The Pistons are probably the biggest threat to bringing him back.

If Bridges wanted to stick around he would've made an attempt to negotiate an actual contract with us (see: PJ Washington) instead of taking the QO on 7/2. We're going to have to overpay to keep him.

i thought he came off pretty sincere tbh, of course he's had plenty of time to practice. I don't expect him to be here in 12 months but I do expect Miles coming back from a year vacation going into UFA to play hard as hell on both ends and be a highlight factory. just gonna try to enjoy the last year of him dunking on everyone with no expectations, and hope that Brandon is good enough that we won't miss MB too much

100% teams could still make trades to clear future cap space, but these are the teams next year with over 20 million in cap space (not including cap holds) so it will end up being even less teams.

Nets have 25 million, but way over if you count Dinwiddie, Claxton, Oneal cap holds. Non player currently.
Hornets have 40 million or so, cap holds of Bridges, Gordon and maybe Pj?
Wizards have 40 million or so, cap holds of Avdija, Tyus Jones and Delon. Probably not a player.
Jazz have 40 million or so. No real big cap holds. Biggest threat so far.
Magic have 50 million or so, Fultz, Harris, Cole Anthony and Okeke cap holds. Could go either way.
Raptors have 60 million, cap holds for Pascal, OG likely opts out and is expensive. Along with GTJ and Achiuwa.
Pistons have 60 million, Wiseman, Burks, Hayes, Joe Harris, Monte Morris cap holds
Sixers have 65 million, cap holds whole team. Literally. Maxey, Harden, Harris, Melton all FA.
Spurs 70 million, cap holds Vassell, Bullock, Collins, McDermott.

Big name FA: Pascal, Harris, Harden, OG, Hield, Klay, Bridges, Derozan, Jval
Best RFA: Vassell, Quickley, Maxey, Pat Williams, Okongwu, Toppin, Bey

I was thinking he was likely leaving. Now it seems likes he wants to stay with a chance of a higher salary.

Hopefully he balls out. Fans will forgive him over time if he plays well and doesn't cause anymore trouble.

If Miles continues his previous projection, he could be the best available unrestricted free agent considering the ages of that group

I just want to say I believe in 2nd chances. I have been offered more than that in life and that's a blessing. He sat out an entire season, I don't think he got paid, name dragged and more. What he did was disgusting. I do think he's remorseful. He paid his debt. Let him prove what we know is and can be. If he resigned and works out with Miller and Mark Williams that is going to be to his benefit. It serves us the us best to retain or to try to retain him. We need the talent, he's young and proven with Melo. If he fits with Miller and Williams, I really I think we could be onto something. I didn't mention Melo because we know what he can do. Those 3 additions to Melo for a full season if healthy can really make us level up. Hopefully we resign pj reasonably.

This was always going to be the the case though so I like the trial year for Miles as a prove yourself and then next year we just pay him market value if possible. Technically saves us $$ and get a year in his prime for $8mil

I believe in 2nd chances too, he said the right things and him succeeding is the best possible outcome for everyone involved, lets hope he continues as a good/great up and coming player.
