Exactly my thought as well. The Bulls SHOULD be desperate for a point guard and yet they are letting their only other true ball handler go? Really really weird.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we can just sign Ayo outright so it would have to be a sign and trade?

I think they can pull his QO & make him a UFA, or they can SnT to us on a 3yr deal but only the 1st yr guaranteed, 2nd yr TO 3rd yr PO & we send a future 2nd or something

yes but all we could pay is a minimum in that case. but as far as a sign and trade goes, Bulls don't likely want to take on much salary in trade because they are kind of close to the tax. So I suspect this sign and trade is waiting on being included in another bigger deal so we can take on Ayo's salary without sending much if any salary to the Bulls along with 2nd rounder.

Probably comes down to being cheap. Even without Ball they have some surplus in the back court though. Coby White and Ayo are kinda the same. I would have picked Ayo over White but they probably know something I don't. I love Ayo though. He is very raptorsy so their loss is our gain. I wouldn't be surprised if a forward is heading out as the Bulls are really weak up front. Maybe Boucher?

They signed Javon Carter and Colby White plus they have Lavine, Caruso and Terry at SG. They have very good guard depth compared to us.

That would put them in the tax and they aren't going there. I don't think we'd move Precious for him. Probably just a three way trade where Bulls only get a 2nd.

Jevon Carter might be the closest to being an actual point guard. Coby White is a combo guard and really more of a 2. I wouldn't call Caruso a point guard either. Maybe they plan on having Demar and Zach initiating the offence more.

The Raptors are committed to building the worst shooting team in the NBA lmao. I like Ayo, Jaden and Dennis (to a lesser extent) as players but the shooting is a big issue.

With the amount of time Demar and Zach have the ball having a true pg is not really a necessity. White is more of a three point threat which is probably the better option when pairing with Demar.

No because we would need a trade exception to receive the salary and we don't have any so we'd have to send out salary they probably don't want. So likely third team and part of bigger trade if it happens.
