Or he's just trying to be a good teammate, right? Saying good things about your new teammate isn't that uncommon. Doesn't have to be an attack on Ja/Jones.

I also think he's wrong unless he's going to change his entire offensive approach. The issue definitely wasn't the point guards he was playing with. But I think if these comments were made by almost any other player, you've have taken no heed. It's his rep more than his words here.

I guess yea. Thanks for playing some sort of devils' advocate here - as I see how some of that might be just piling on / anchoring as a bias.

Agree in the sense that he is wrong, but am curious to how playing under a more strict coach in Udoka changes his offensive tendencies and so on. For the lattermost point, perhaps that's true - but I see this as still with a bit of lacking self awareness which is in line with Brooks' offensive approach on the court at times. I see that as the reason Memphis reported not to bring him back "under any circumstances" [word for word]. - rather than his 'villain Brooks' tour.

Of course, ignore the poster / account. But iirc, this clip is real back from 2020 or so. Green and Paul will certainly be an entertaining duo, in multiple facets.

I rarely even open Wilt threads because he has some ridiculous fans (I think I quit after someone argued he could touch 14 ft), but checked out that locked one, 50 blocks in a game is a new one.

But the most ridiculous argument there is that the NBA secretly has entire seasons worth of footage from the 60s. The NBA of the 60s was absolutely not spending the money to film entire seasons worth of games they couldn't even broadcast.

I'm not sure what you mean by "entire seasons", but the NBA of course has a large library of unseen games. This is common in many different leagues that go decades back.

Unsure about the extent and stature to which information is being withheld, but this phenomenon has some merit to it.

The claim was that they had every game for the entire decade.

More, sure, all of them, not even close.

The argument was, funnily enough, with 70sFan, who is well aware they don't have close to all of the games.

We wound up 'knowing a guy' (whom we couldn't name) who was a close family friend of Wilts and so because of that they got access to all of Wilts career footage, because you need to be a close family friend to view this footage, ignoring of course that would mean that 'friend' was also close family friends with 100s of other players through the 60s who also played in those games with Wilt.

I will add that:

1. Wilt's family was involved in the creation of the new Wilt documentary (I helped them with the footage, they didn't get anything from the league from what I know).
2. Ben Taylor got some footage from the league without being a close friend of Wilt's family.

These two facts from the last months basically show that this whole theory was a hoax.

Definitely, the doc is mostly focused on Wilt's personality and off-court life.

Very sad to hear about Bronny James. I've unfortunately had to watch in-person many people in my life have heart attacks, strokes, cardiac events, etc. I think I was five when my grandpa had a stroke, and I had no idea what was going on. The suddenness of heart and cerebrovascular events like that is scary. I don't want to imagine what it is like experiencing it as a parent.

Thankfully it's reported he is in stable condition. Regardless of how this affects his basketball story, at least he is still here. Hope he has a full recovery with no complications going forward. Great job to the medical staff for saving his life.

good to see he's safe. I hope it doesn't hurt the basketball side of things too much. Seems like he had a decent shot at making the nba

Quality of discussion has been picking up lately. I guess the off season is a time to take a break from toxicity and try to learn new stuff about basketball in your boredom.

I suspect people who think the quality of discussion ever went down aren't really making a comparison. Have been linked to a few and uh, let's just say Doc explaning to the masses that offensive-rating isn't witchcraft is not really an improvement

That's cool that you were involved! I've watched the first 2 episodes and if any of you have access to showtime I'd highly recommend checking it out. Also got a kick out of seeing Ben Taylor (ElGee) featured throughout. He was great.

Ben also published a podcast with two main directors of the documentary last week. It's also worth listening!

If Duncan had grown out his hair in the NBA he’d be the consensus GOAT.
