I do wonder about bigs vet presence now. Collins is the oldest, most seasoned big we have now, right?

Maybe we don't worry about it for Wemby with David and Timmy around but they're not with the team all the time. Pop is, though, and Wemby said he could follow him with his eyes closed.

Maybe we still make some moves to address it.

I'm not sure the team is much concerned about having a vet around to work with Wembanyama. He doesn't play like any vet big man in the league anyway. Also with Pop sticking around he will big on mentoring him I'm sure. Everyone with the team continues to say they dont want him to be the next David or Timmy. They want him to be Victor.

And im not ganging up on Deing because I like him, but he's not teaching Wemby anything anyway :D
I wish him luck!

Yes we knew of the agreement already, but when we sign these deals, in what order, affects how much cap space we have at a given time at what further deals we've been able to make. Terrific off-season so far.

We are? I know he said it would be an honour to play for Pop and get chemistry with Wemby but this is the first I'm hearing of our interest.

Happy to take the money off their hands for some extra pick compensation but our FOs haven't been on the best of terms so we'll see what, if anything, comes of it:

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/272562/Spurs-Interested-In-Evan-Fournier

p.s. He's 30, 6'6", averaging above our team 3s efficiency, and will be making $18.5M this upcoming season (team option $19M for the following season) so some players would have to go out. We need to trim the roster so a trade would be one way to do it.

p.s.s. He has the same agent as Wemby.

What would think a trade would look like if it were to happen?

Well Doug ($13M expiring) and Khem Birch ($6M expiring) work in trade checker but I know Pop really likes Doug's off ball movement. Still, we have to do something with expirings... There would have to be some kind of pick coming back for us as well.

Fournier is really good to form some French connection with Wemby. I don't know how good he is right now. If he can get back to his prime days, he can launch 7 3's from the perimeter. I wonder what he can do for us.

Funny, I thought the exact same. Makes sense for both teams IF they want Evan with Wemby. Knicks fans will be pissed if we add a pick to move Evan but, whatever.

No idea. He was injured when we acquired him as salary ballast in the Poeltl trade. Don't think he was even ever with the team (something about travel papers issue? plus he had to recover). But an expiring is an expiring. My sense is that some picks asset would be enough incentive to part with Doug who is an amazing locker room guy, can hit a 3 well, and knows our system well/fits great off ball in it.

I remember Doug from when we had him. Would love an Evan/Doug swap for sure. Not into giving up a FRP though unless it's one of the WAS/DET picks. Still not sure how he gets minutes here either. Thibs is a maniac.

We're clearly high on him. From recent memory, only he and Tre have been signed to full guaranteed contracts as second round picks.

Welcome officially to the Spurs Family, Sidy!

I see something in Cissoko. Possibly a star defender. I wonder if he pans out at the NBA level.

I'd like to see him against NBA players and see how he does.
With his motor he could possibly steal a game or two for us in a Tuesday night road game in February when no one else wants to play.

Hmm Birch for sure. After that, it gets murky at least for the beginning of the season. Maybe Doug and Graham? Outside chance of Blake... ?
