I love Sunny, but Dennis doesn't hold a candle to Hawkeye Pierce, George Costanza, Reverend Jim Ignatowski, Gob Bluth, George Jefferson or the goat, Lucille Ball

Edit: I forgot a lot, but somehow I left off Hal from Malcolm in the Middle.

Dennis is way better than all............ because of the implication

Dennis may be my favorite but the thing that makes Always Sunny great is that there isn't a single weak character in the main cast. Even the recurring bit characters (Cricket, Snail, Waitress, McPoyles, Mac and Charlie's moms, etc.) are all perfectly cast and written. Like, this could have been an entire episode about Dee or Frank and it would've been just as hilarious. I don't think we've ever seen a sitcom (if you even wanna call it that at this point) keep hitting its stride well into their 16th season. They're straight up comedic geniuses.

All of my favorite Sunny eps are within the first 5 seasons. I've only watched the Cranston/Paul ep from this season, though, glad they are crushing it. I love the boys so much.

For those that don't listen to/watch the podcast, do it.

Why come none of you meme-lords done a mock-up of the Oppenheimer poster with the Bucks assistant coach as the title character? If graphics design was my passion it isnt I would of done it all ready.

I think the prevailing theory that the cast doing the pod and rewatching old episodes has provided them the right direction for the newer episodes rings true. While the show hasn’t been bad lately, this new season is definitely a step back to where it once was before.

I still don’t think anything will top “Charlie Work” for me. That episode is incredible.

Seeing it this afternoon. First movie my wife and I have gone to without the kids since "The Grand Budapest Hotel". So, like 9 1/2 years.

Streak would've continued, but the 22 year old got called into work.

Need to watch the new season maybe I'll do that when i'm traveling in a few weeks. I think season 6 was still the best one for me. Mac Fights Gay Marriage/Dennis Get's Divorced are so **** good lol. A Very Sunny Christmas is also hilarious.

I once again want to advocate for movies over 2.5 hours to have an intermission.

Amen. I had to watch the last 10 minutes from the hallway to ensure that I was first to the men's room.

Thoughts on the movie:

Spoiler:
i thought it was good. It was predictably 20-30 minutes too long.

I didnt warch the trailers much on purpose. I was hoping/assuming it would be mostly about Los Alamos

Its basically a courtroom drama which, while interesting seems like a waste of the title subject.

Murphy was great and so was Blunt.

Oppenheimer thoughts:

Spoiler:
Nolan characteristically on top of his technical directing game. Top notch production quality and shooting. Top notch acting. However just way too dense and complicated. Like the basic idea is here's this guy Oppenheimer who for some vague reasons I kind of grasped wanted to make this device. Then afterwards he realized he felt world cooperation should be explored and he got shanghaied for it because the powers that be felt differently. But Nolan put those ideas forward in a super convoluted and dense manner that made it hard to sift through it all. I think it could have been told in a more straightforward and still provocative manner. And I think Tenet suffered from similar issues. I'm not smart but reasonably intelligent and it was hard to follow all the plot points and characters.

Oh, and the dialogue, in typical Nolan fashion is hard to hear/catch at times. Found myself really having to strain to catch it all.

Jack Ryan plot holes:

I did enjoy it and I do understand this is the genre.

-
Spoiler:
in the finale when Jack was rescued from the Mayar prison, there were approximately 6 guards in the whole place? Then Jack and Chavez just walked out?
- “Ade” was an illogical character from start to finish. A CIA operative who counsels the director but also is a known rogue agent and walks around the building/DC freely?
- 3 guys getting in and out of the Croatian “market” so easily was tough to believe, even in a spy movie
- Mike and Jack healing so fast from significant body trauma (coming off the plane with smiles) was goofy
- the scene where the triad shot Cho Fa from a distance and didnt swarm his house (to kill his accomplices) was as improbable as the black ops team leaving Mike and Chavez at the beach

reminds me of that family guy clip about making EDM music. two guys in a studio, one asks, "what key are we in?" the other responds, "No no, none of that."
