Tori Hunter looking at Washington, Atlanta

Torii Hunter indicated that Washington and Atlanta were a couple of his preferred destinations should he leave Minnesota as a free agent.
"I always talk to my wife about being interested in playing in front of the African-American fans and trying to get the African Americans back to playing the game," he said. "If I go to Atlanta or D.C. and make a difference that way, I would love it. Trust me -- D.C. is very interesting to me as well as Atlanta." That'd really help the Braves next season to get Tori Hunter filling in for Andruw if in fact he doesn't come back. He's not going to hit nearly as well as Andruw, but he is one of the best at chasing down flies in the outfield and he'll still probably hit 20+ homers a season.

He only wants to come to ATL because of the large black population.

I want a CF who just wants to play good baseball.

Hunter hasn't heard from Twins

Minnesota Twins all-star center fielder Torii Hunter, who can become a free agent after the World Series, said Wednesday that he hasn't had any contract offers from Minnesota since the end of the season.

"I'm kind of disappointed, but what can you do?" Hunter said from his Texas home. "That's my home team; I want to be with my home team. But there are no talks, no progress at all. It's still the same. But there's still a lot of time left."

The Twins conducted organizational meetings last week in Florida.

In terms of power, yes Andruw is better. But I think a little leaguer can hit for about the same average as Andruw.

Getting Hunter would be a great addition to our ball club next season. He would be a great person to fill Andruw Jones spot, I don't like to say that at all but it is the truth. Hunter is top notch in center, and he also contributes with his stick.
