Not good. Cowboys use a lot of 3 safety looks in their defensive schemes. He's a huge part of that scheme.

Looks like Wilson had a calf strain. Nothing too serious but it will take time for him to get back (about a month).

Also with Wilson out it’s a perfect opportunity for a guy like Markquese Bell to step up. I remember he looked pretty good last year. This is his chance.

I've been reading reports this kid has been turning a lot of heads in training camp. The next Darren Sproules is what they are saying.

He’s small but that might actually be a plus for him. It’s going to be hard for the bigger guys to even see him in traffic. He’s shifty, strong enough to break tackles, and is faster than you think. If MM calls a lot of screen passes and passes to the RB (which is his m.o.) this kid could shine. He has to stay healthy though.

LOL...Has there been a guy in the league that small? I guess Sproles was in the neighborhood of 5'7" or so?

He should instantly become a fan favorite.

Sproles was/is listed at 5’6”. So he’s a hair bigger than Duece. It’s definitely going to be fun to watch him play. He has to show even a little something in preseason and game 1 to prevent them from signing a vet RB. If he doesn’t show anything I think the Cowboys sign a vet RB in week 2. I believe their contracts are not guaranteed after week 1. That’s when we could see them bring Zeke back.

If he doesn't make it in the NFL he might pass for a horse jockey.

Also been hearing DeMarvian Overshown has been turning a lot of heads in training camp as well. If he works out we should be mighty fine at LB Mr. B.

We’ll see. Even if Overshown plays well this season I still think they need at least 1 more quality LB.

I mean, Jerry isn’t entirely wrong. This isn’t a situation like Dirk where Zack has been taking less money to help the team sign free agents. Zack has been paid as a top 5 guard his entire career. Also they are going to need to resign Micah Parsons and that isn’t going to be cheap. Parsons might command the largest non-QB contract in NFL history.

The Cowboys do need Zack but he’s near the end of his contract and at this point in their careers Parsons is the more important player. This is not MLB where there is no salary cap. The Cowboys only have so much money to divvy up. Would Cowboys fans rather give that money to Martin or Parsons?

I'm not sure what else Jerry is supposed to say there TBH. If he caved to Martin he'd then find himself with a whole roster of players not showing up to training camp.

Martin is also probably the only player on the entire roster who could hold out and fans would have his back. Most everyone else would get negative press and maybe a diva label. The news on this also came out the exact same day that Madden released Martin's 99 rating, which he then retweeted several times. My gut feeling is that Martin saw his perfect Madden rating and it went to his head.

I think it's pretty clear what his plans are. Martin is 32. He knows this is likely his last chance to cash-in one final time. Before his age starts to become a factor. He's not going to get many offers when he's age 35.
