Huh... maybe it's beliefs like this why he's a former executive? I would think OKC or even Utah could easily outbid New Orleans for Lillard unless you think Zion is worth the risk of a top 5 player.

If you believe the national media it should be very easy and well worth the risk for most contenders in the NBA to outbid Miami's "bad"/"pathetic" offer, so why haven't they, it sure seems like it's a very low risk high rewards move? If New York didn't have Brunson they probably would have been a bidder. why not talk with Minnesota about Towns for Lillard. For a GM, Portland's owner sure doesn't seem to be trying to upgrade his team. He could just call Lillard's bluff and say they're not moving Lillard and expect to have him finish his whole career in Portland.

Honestly what team really cares if Lillard will be upset, he has 4 years remaining on his contract, at some point he's not going to sit out losing money and his competitive side will take over.

I think the pelicans biggest mistake was extending Zion.. zion played the market smart, released some photos of him being jacked after one offseason workout knowing it will land him a max.. it is almost a joke that, thats all it takes to get your GM to invest in you.. even though youve missed a lot more games than youve played

New Orleans is a small market, they had to retain a possible top 5 player in the league, even if it's just to trade in the future, you know, like Miami did with Whiteside(to not lose a possible great asset). I would not be on bit surprised if Zion is traded in the future if he has 1 or 2 good/great years.

Arguably anyone less than top 5 isn’t worth it, but if Jaylen Brown gets it, Bam would get it. At least in Bams case he’s more of a unique talent, instead of just another wing.

If Bam makes all nba then so be it.. he gets the supermax.. and if we have Liliard on board and Bam still makes all nba that means we are a top 2 seed with him liliard and butler playing at a consistent high level

Yes, you need to make All-NBA. It's not that dumb imo, I mean there's 15 All-NBA spots between first, second, and third teams...

I see the logic in it, it just feels arbitrary is all, since making all-nba is very circumstantial.
