Report: Padres Listening To Offers For Josh Hader, Juan Soto

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jul 28, 2023 11:38 am

The San Diego Padres aren\'t committed to selling, but they are listening to offers for Josh Hader, Blake Snell and Juan Soto, according to a report.

San Diego is more than six games out of a postseason berth in the National League.

Hader and Snell are pure rentals with both set to become free agents after the season.

Pretty certain they will trade Snell. They don't want to resign him, he might not even be a starter IF they make the playoffs.

My question is about Soto.

How did this dude go from being talked about as the best player in baseball a few years ago to on the trade block 2 years later?

How not? He’s been one of their top pitchers over the last two months. Guy has 2.6 ERA overall and has been awesome since the end of May. 4-2 0.92 ERA in his last 7 starts 39 IP w/ 54K’s. 6-4 1.69 ERA in last 15 starts 85 IP w/ 114K’s. I just don’t understand how he wouldn’t be a starter in the playoffs with how well he’s been pitching. You sure you even looked at how’s even playing this year?

Honestly when I read Snell, for some reason I was thinking of Seth Lugo. :D Yeah, Snell would in their playoff rotation along with Darvish, Wacha and Musgrove. Lugo would go to the bullpen, he is expiring and not owed much so they could get some return for him without jeopardizing their team if they make the playoffs.
