So glad this thread was renewed. Given the lost Knicks summer, this issue has become more important even to the most diehard Knicks fans among us. After all, if America becomes a kleptocracy, it would be hard rooting for a NY team from an undisclosed location in another country.

Seriously, let's hope there are enough people of good will in this country that they'll understand the gravity of these charges not give in the the Joe Rogans and Steven A Smiths of the world. I can't imagine people having said, "Well, Hitler may be committing genocide, but we have to support his right to spread his ideas."

NO. Free speech, as guaranteed under our constitution, does not permit the spreading of conspriacies or all calls to inssurection, nor does it allow people to commit crimes based on one's "right" to say whatever they want. Beyond this, much of what Trump has done is either prohibited by other laws (under which he hasn't been charged or couldn't reasonably be convicted) or wrong based upon any reasonable definition of "morality."

I personally find it shocking that a country with a baked in history of racism that fought wars for 20 straight years while most of the population embraced a form of Bro Libertarianism at home would now find itself sliding towards fascism now that the good economic and good patriotic times are over.
