I just want to say that you need the right team around such guy or his impact is going to be very limited.
But this is actually true for offensive players as well, just we seem to think having guys who can space the floor, finish and make basic decisions should be the basic to play in the NBA.
What is the maximum (realistic) individual defense impact in 2023?

Even if he isn’t 1000% resilient to NBA Offenses at all times… However good you believe Rudy G to be as a player( Mid-Low Tier All Star, With Exploitative Aspects due to offensive incompetence) is the answer to your question!
Offensively he’s weird because he’s so reliant on what’s happening around him, but defensively there’s a playoff dropoff. He’s still great but it’s for sure a dropoff
I think this is incredibly overstated, I don't see how prime Rudy couldn't do what Davis did in the last playoff even better, with the right team around him.
Give Davis rhe wrong teammates and his defense he's going to get "exposed" as well
I mean that’s cool and all but I said offense lol. It’s not as if the Lakers have a defensive squadron, we don’t have a backup center, Rui is undersized at the four and brons on one foot, Dennis and Reaves are solid the rest aren’t at all lol, and Vando is good only if you can’t set screens. AD was a clear different tier defensively than JJJ and Dray, was probably as impressive up untill going vs big Chungus as any run we’ve seen defensively in the past years or so.
Goberts playoff dropoff is overrated but there is a dropoff, because while he’s a fantastic rim protector he’s only good at more mobile or agggressive screen coverages, AD, at least when he’s trying and reasonably healthy, is fantastic at those and the best combo in the league rn in terms of rim protection + mobile screen coverages. AD was better, or at least more impactful, than he was in the bubble defensively, which probably already clears anything we’ve seen from gobert

I mean if you can’t hit 2/3 ur not gonna be in the nba lol
Anyways not so much with top tier guys offensively anyway, if ur comparing it to defense
