Is it weird that I (and I suspect many of you) know Paolo’s games specifically based on his hairstyle and leggings choice?

I noticed this as well. I think Ponytail Paolo w/headband would be clean. I prefer Afro Paolo because he looks more imposing in my opinion but he didn't play well like you mentioned.

Ideal Paolo for 23 - 24:

Pony with headband.

No arm accessories (PLEASE NO forearm wristband)

Equipped with leggings

Shorter shorts to display his massive tree trunk legs.

No more Pink shoes. Match the shoe with the legging.

When the sophomore slump hits, revert to Afro Paolo variant.

Also, Franz, please throw on a shooting sleeve for some flair.

I am fully behind shorter shorts. Also think no leggings. These guys are athletes, rep those pistons with pride.

There’s definitely some improvement in his game. His shot attempts actually lessen by 20%.

Last year there were times when he would attempts more than 15per game. Now it is less. He selects his shot better now.

Actually after the players only meeting this year, his shot selection is better.

Anthony also made a concerted effort to refine his shots and locations. Seems like it was a focus point of the coaches to get them to be more selective.

Update:

After Paolo's first USA practice:

Ponytail with Headband

Forearm wristband is back

No leggings, pistons on display

Seemed agitated during a quick interview you can see on YouTube.

He has great media training but I am curious why he always quantify his experiences. Why does he always say “this is my first time”, “my first year”, “As a rookie” etc?

He does seem a little agitated but watching him in those practice videos, I am assuming his first showing didn’t go like he wanted it to as well.

I’d give him a shot at a comeback. Relatively young, has some range, plays hard. He’s had some issues but I’d be ok giving him a chance. It’s not like we couldn’t use another big body with Bol Bol gone and JI’s health being unreliable as of now.

Eeerrrr yeah about that... if JI's health is unreliable, then Giles ( even during his DUKE days ) is even worse

How will the Magic go on a spending spree next Summer? Spending 51M will be a fun task for WePark.

Well in next 2 years 80% of roster , currentlly on rookie deals becomes FA , so overpaying to keep existing players will be a thing.

Cole- RFA
Fultz- UFA
Isaac- UFA
Franz -early designed rookie max eligiable
Suggs- RFA next summer
Banchero - early desgined rookie max eligiable next year
Harris- UFA
Okeke - RFA

Looked up a bunch of PER=14 PFs, and many are sitting around a 8M-10M salary line. If Isaac is healthy to play 65+ games, I guess I would swallow him be resigned to a 2-year 20-25M contract (e.g. 11M in year one and 13M in year 2, that sort of deal).

But longer term, does Isaac see himself as a career backup? If not, he will be moved. He has 2 years and 35M still on the books. If he has a good year this year, I see him as certain to be traded next off-season. Not only would he be an expiring for another team, for some odd reason, the media still likes his actual basketball game.
