"For Philadelphia, they are permitted to trade '21 and '23 first-round picks - this year's pick and 2023 - plus they have Tyrese Maxey, their young guard out of Kentucky, and Thybulle, Matisse Thybulle. Toronto, they would like all of those pieces. From what I've been told, Philly has not been willing to put that whole package in there."
At a minimum, Morey was likely to trade 1 of those 4 pieces. Supposedly Raps wanted all 4, which seems exaggerated. Green was the salary filler.
Not sure why this has to be repeated constantly.

In hindsight masai traded a washed lowry who then got 30 mil a year for precious and salary filler. How is this something worthy to b*tch about??
Because we could have gotten a lot more the moment we decided not to bring back Gasol/Ibaka. Masai thought we could still contend with Baynes/Len and kept Lowry in the same offseason Jrue Holiday was traded for a haul.
Lowry was coming off a great season and only a Masai homer would think he was handled properly. Us even getting the sign and trade package from Miami was lucky as we could have easily gotten Fred'd and gotten nothing.
Now let's all hope that Masai isn't going down the same stupidity road with Trent/OG/Siakam.
Oh, so you wanted to trade Lowry when the Raps were coming off a 53-19 season in 2020? Sure would like to see all your posts back then saying that.
That was my reaction when we let Gasol/Ibaka go and replaced them with the likes of Baynes/Len to chase a stupid Giannis dream illogically.

You have to take back salary to trade lowry regardless of when. Trading hom earlier to a team with no guarantee he resigns with them do you think its a forgone conclusion they get useful assets back without taking back a contract that isnt cap friendly or worse has more term on it?
Precious is a fringe prospect and Dragic was an overpaid salary filler. There's no question they coudlve gotten that at the deadline. Chit, there was a confirmed offer of at least Thybulle, who's at minimum on the same level as Precious, without having to eat longer salary.
It was a bad trade. I dont know why people continue to try and justify it. Since the title, it's been a series of bad moves and non-moves by the organization with Scottie being the 1 exception.
I dont understand how people like you can state something like thybelle was on the table as a fact. You dont know. And how would the salaries work without taking anything back? Im curious if that trade was even possible
ok. Well it was reported. If you guys wanna sit here and tell me that we got more value in a S&T for Lowry than we wouldve at the deadline, then cool, i got a bridge to sell you too.
We got a meh prospect that you can find anywhere and were forced to take on Dragic, who we had to pay to get off of. It was a bad trade. How are you trying to sell it as anything else?

Cool. Should be easy for you to find all the links stating it then. We would love to see it.

Pretty sure I created a thread outlining the stupidity back of how dumb it was to break up the 2nd best regular season team in the nba just to chase "Giannis."
Then I said if we were gonna do that then we should be trading Lowry. Not gonna waste time to look it up

I remember the Thybulle discussion/rumor as well. If you don't remember it, it's kind of on you to find it, if you care.

The escrow amount is not a tax. Its withheld temporarily and the league distributes it to the players after each season if revenues targets are met.

Because ots not confirmed as fact. Post it 100 more times if u like. And a package of green and thybelle is commensurate with what they got.

Yep, and I'd easily take Precious over Thybulle.

Its not a fact, but it was a strong possibility. Given that Morey didn't deny trade talks, something of value was offered. A role player like Thybulle is a likely candidate to have been involved in any offer. If not him, then who on that team? There are limited options. To state "its not a fact" is entirely misleading.

Yep, and I'd easily take Precious over Thybulle.
Precious will be starter material from 26-30 and he's very close to being there now. I see him as the main prospect benefitting from Darko, the flashes him and Barnes show are similar. This season he just needs a three point shot he can hit from the corner and on pops. He's big, lengthy, and strong enough to match bigger centers like Embiid on defense and then absolutely tear into them on offense. Long term he should be our starting center, especially if he can hit the 3 point shot.
Imagine if Barnes, Siakam, and Achiuwa were reliable three point shooters on 5 attempts a game hitting between 35-38%.
Achiuwa
Siakam
OG
Trent
Barnes
That would be the best starting line up in the league.

Why are you so enamoured with Thybulle? He completely lacks what this team needs, and brings what this team already has... Precious has a higher ceiling than Thybulle, especially offensively.

The actual player here doesn't matter, its that there was a trade on the table at that time is what matters. Raps chose another direction. But can't deny the potential deadline trade offer, there was definitely something available from Sixers.

I dont even think he what to complain about anymore. Even if you take that article as a "strong possibility" (no basis for saying that) the realized package they got (which is indeed a fact) was on par with what morey wanted to offer.

Don't think anyone is questioning that there was an offer or two at the deadline, it was well reported. But isn't the timing of the trade irrelevant if they ended up with the better prospect, regardless?

1. They didnt end up with a better player. Thybulle is better than Precious
2. Timing does matter as we coudlve gotten an expiring contract at the deadline instead of dead weight Dragic who we had to pay to get off of.
