What have we forgotten about? He looks like a promising prospect but he’s shown nothing in the NBA so far to chastise people about forgetting him. He still has some gaping flaws like a slow first step and a looser-than-necessary handle that makes me think he won’t be able to be a full time PG. That’s not to mention his terrible shooting, but I believe that’s ephemeral as he was an excellent shooter before he got to the NBA. This season will be telling, though.
By the end of his rookie season, he was putting up 22/6/6. He's already a problem. And that's without improvement in any of the areas you mentioned. And as you said, he was a solid 3 point shooter in college, so it's a good bet he'll adjust to the NBA line.
Is he a full time pg? Most teams like to play with multiple ball handlers out there. Cade is 6'7" and most certainly will spend time out there with smaller guards and may even spend time at the 3. It's not like he's a 6'2" combo guard that you constantly hide on defense.
Qing feels like he’s hate posting, Cade has been extremely good at times and everyone should know that. Wasn’t a secret when he was healthy. His issues are simply shooting consistency and mastering timing on passes/drives. If he gets through those he should be what people hoped for. If he doesn’t then he won’t.
