Trae is literally smashing turnover records left and right... its actually insane the amount he gets... If he keeps on doing what hes doing its going to be a record that will be hard to break...in a bad way....

He already has 4 seasons over 4 turnovers a game... go find me other players that are that **** ill wait....

Look how stunning Young was in 2021-22....
.460 field, .382 threes and 8.0 attempts per game!
I know Young averages 4 turnovers per game, but Steve Nash averaged 3.6 during his last 7 years in Phoenix....
And Young averages only about 1 less assist than Nash and 10ppg more than Nash.

SeanieWard wrote:I agree. Trae Young isn't a good defender by any means but the top PGs in the league aren't either. Luka, Steph, and Dame are all liabilities on defense many nights. Now Trae isn't as good as them but he's still a damn good player. He basically ruined the Embiid and Simmons led Philly team. No matter how bad Simmons played, if they go on to beat the Hawks, which they should have, that team might still be together today competing in the Eastern Conference but Trae took it to them and the rest is history. He also went into the Garden in the playoffs and silenced a very hostile crowd. Can he improve in efficiency and turnovers? Certainly but he's still big time imo

Curry Dame and Luka are much better defenders then Trae.

Or you can dismiss Trae and other 4 years players who never reach conference finals ( about 95% of the league ) loose weight join the draft and lead your favorite team to conference finals yourself

It’s not gonna be any harder than dismissing Trae on Internet forums, right ?

But as of now hes pretty lame.

He averages 26/9/3 on 58 ts% for his career but doesn’t do anything well?

Hawks led the East in scoring last year with 118.4 ppg (3rd in nba) with him running the team. The year before they ranked #2 in offensive efficiency.

Also the last two years the hawks have been

12.9 turnovers as a team (3rd lowest)
12.1 turnovers as a team (2nd lowest)

So he gets criticized for turnovers despite hawks being a low turnover team (and he’s the highest usage guy by far) and field goal %.

Yeah people on here love to discredit anything he does. Like hawks orating with Trae on the court last 3 years? 118.0, 119.5, 120.5 literally elite offenses when he’s running it but you think he’s a negative offensive player by the way some talk about him. Always fg% and turnovers….and his fg% suffered because of his poor start.

First 27 games = 29% from 3 (52 ts%)
Last 47 games = 37% from 3 (60 ts%)

Hawks defense and Trae defense is bad that’s where they need to improve (And I believed Trae improved some on that end too…. hawks were still bad though)

Trae Young is an elite NBA PG, but FIBA basketball (and PO basketball where Trae struggles more than RS) has more congested lanes, allows more physical defense, which might slow Trae more than someone like Brunson who relies more on footwork and operates al slower paces and is very strong physically for his size or Haliburton who is taller than Trae by at least 4 inches, so I can see the logic behind preferring them to him, Brunson is also much better suited for defense, Brunson actually tries a lot on defense and uses his strength, he's just short, Trae is shorter, much weaker, and doesn't show the same effort level.
Defense wins draft lotteries!
Fortune favours the bold, so it ducked Nico Harrison.
