Kobe owned Lebron
I'll say I was never a Kobe fan but obviously know he was a great player. On here he is seen as considerably less than Lebron. The below video portrays how Kobe was a tougher player, particularly at the height of his and arguably Lebron's career.
Kobe didn't shy away from the clutch and end of game pressure like Lebron and stepped up much better. That Olympics showing is pretty damning at the time.
Had Kobe had a superteam like Lebron had in the 2010s, in the 2000s, it's pretty certain he'd have won more than the five championships he did. That holds true for pretty much every star in history.

Echoing Colbinii’s exact comment the last time a Skap YT Video was sent in here.. Absolute joke of an account

How about what was presented in the video?
You don't agree that Kobe was far more clutch?
Advanced stats have their place but there is far more than that.

How about actual means of 'clutch-time' production?

Lebron's teams are 16-6 when matched up against Kobe in his career.
LeBron James has averaged 28.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 22 games versus Kobe Bryant in his career on 54.4 TS%.
Kobe Bryant averaged 24.6 points, 5.2 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 22 games versus LeBron James in his career on 52.6 TS%.

And the closest measurement of actual clutch stats has been posted here many times (last couple of minutes, close score) and LeBron does better than Kobe. In fact, Kobe does relatively poorly, probably because of his propensity to play hero ball and not see other options in the clutch.

That didn't happen at the Olympics, it was all Kobe. Lebron also was the furthest thing from clutch in the 2007, 2011 finals and 2023 ecf, to name some.

He wasn't that clutch in a series they got swept? How is that relevant?
Kobe wasn't that clutch either when he airballed multiple game-tying 3s against the Jazz in 1997 either.

Re: Kobe owned Lebron
Had Kobe Bryant had a great team he'd have more than 5 rings. The irony is so great.
Ignoring how James has better stats than Kobe and better clutch stats (which I don't get why that is important), I am still having a hard time keeping my grin off about thinking about the Lakers not being a great team or never having a "super team" lmao. The Lakers.
How do you think Kobe Bryant won so many titles? Through the grace of god?
The guy who made the video is just a typical mark. Talking about the Olympics like Lebron James in his rookie year had so much influence on his team. I bet that guy thinks 1997 Kobe Bryant sucking doesn't count because he was a straight out of HS rookie.

Yes. Probably was a better lover, too (although not as good as Michael!).
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

But no one compares to Wilt . . . just ask him.

Re: Kobe owned Lebron
I never know what people mean when they talk about 'clutchness' this way. Is the idea that player A takes fewer shots near the end of a game than player B because he's scared? We're talking about people who have shot a basketball more times than regular people have tied their shoes. Can you imagine someone getting scared of tying their shoes? And if so, wouldn't the billion-dollar organization they work for have done something about this fear?

First off, it wasn't all Kobe. Kobe wasn't even the most valuable player in said Olympics. Carmelo was. Second, no one cares about the Olympics. Third, cherry picking series where LeBron lost isn't going to help your argument here. It's going to make you look as clueless as the person who made that video.
Kobe's not better than LeBron. The argument's I've seen suggesting otherwise are some of the most laughable loads of **** I've ever seen in my life.

If LeBron had prime Shaq early in his career like Kobe did, he would have won more than three championships, and that holds true for pretty much every star in history. Why? Because unlike Kobe, they wouldn't have been selfish and stupid enough to drive him out of town like Kobe did. Also Kobe's probably not winning four championships with the kind of teams LeBron had.

Thinking 'ceteris paribus' here, I'm unsure which star all-time could have won 14/15/17/18 in James' shoes. I'm not rather high on 2007 James and 2011 speaks for itself here (certainly not classifying the former as a choke).. but yeah

While I'd agree implying a guy who very nearly averaged a 28-pt triple double with >60% TS and <2.3 tov for the entire series somehow choked (I assume it's because he went 1/6 in the 4th quarter of game four [in a series they were already down 0-3]; though he had 40/10/9 with just 1 turnover in that game [what a choke!]) is pretty disingenuous..........obviously calling someone a stinky turd is not acceptable.
PLEASE stop doing that.
On that note, I'm going to lock this one down. Trolly thread has succeeded in trolling, and this is about all the oxygen it deserves.
