For some strange news, it would see that Eduardo Rodriguez would rather play in Detroit than for the Dodgers. Must be the weather and the championships.

Re: Around MLB, 2023 edition
So Ramirez is getting a three game suspension, but he's appealing it - so he'll still be playing tonight.
Does anybody know how long the appeals generally take?

I would have tested Springer in the lead off spot again.
Springer, Belt, Schinder, Vlad as the top 4

Re: Around MLB, 2023 edition
Baltimore Orioles announcer Kevin Brown is suspended over a comment he made on July 23 during the team’s series against the Tampa Bay Rays, multiple sources briefed on the decision confirmed to The Athletic on Monday. Awful Announcing first reported the news.
Brown pointed out during the on-air broadcast on MASN that the Orioles had won more games at Tampa Bay’s Tropicana Field in 2023 than the last three years combined. The comment was backed up in the July 23 game notes, which are put together by the team’s public relations staff. “The Orioles have won three of the first five games at The Trop this season after winning three of the 21 games played in St. Petersburg from 2020-22,” the game notes said.
Despite it being in the game notes, ownership took exception to Brown pointing it out, sources said, believing it made them sound cheap. Baltimore ranks 29th in Major League Baseball in payroll.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Re: Around MLB, 2023 edition
That doesn't even make any sense. The Orioles were 29th in opening day payroll, but the Rays are 28th, and both are consistently among the cheapest teams in baseball. He simply pointed out that the Orioles sucked out loud in recent years while the Rays were good, and now the Orioles are good, which...no ****.

**** your asterisk.

Lol, imagine getting suspended for kind of celebrating that your team is actually winning games in Tampa this season. Christ, we plan parades when we win a series down there.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

The Rays should hire him. Hell, Rogers could too. Basically any AL East team should consider it, just to spite the **** Birds.

Re: Around MLB, 2023 edition
If these allegations against Franco end up being true, his MLB career is over. It would be a massive blow to the Rays. He's one of the best infielders in the game and he's only 22.
TLDR: He's being accused of having sex with a 13 year-old. There are pictures of him kissing her.

Situation is wild, better hope for some R Kelly like lawyer stuff, saying she told me she was 18-19 or whatever.

Wait…what are you hoping for? Personally, I’m hoping he didn’t have sex with a 13 year old.

Not a lot of real information to go off of. Comments on Reddit are saying that apparently she was 14 when he was 17 or 18 (when the relationship started). He also says she (and her mom) lied about her age and said she was older (although even if they didn't, there wouldn't have been anything illegal if he was also a kid when it started).
My immediate thought when I heard the story was that it was another Karl Malone or Felipe Vazquez situation. But this might actually be a non-issue.
