At this point in the off-season it’s time to make a PP extension a household phrase.

He is a more than capeable backup for this team or really any team. This is a great experience for him and his growth.

I think so too. He kind reminds me of t.j. McConnell first three years and I think he can get to the current version of t.j. McConnell. Same height and if he just goes all out pesky d that could add a steal per game. I don't know if he is the passer t.j. is but if he can fix a few things. I'm not mad about him. Now what can we get out him I voted for late first? Him on u.s.a squad is only going to be beneficial. I also didn't care for him asking for a trade a lil immature, he had to understand that he wasn't better than smart, white, Brogdon. But I also liked him before that ish and though he had potential. So really imo the ball handlers has depth and can realistically get something for him get under tax and with what's left in free agent Id argue there are more options compared to other positions.

I like him but I’m not as high on him as others. I thought he would get dealt this summer and replaced by a vet min signing to save some $$, and while I think that still could happen, the fact that it hasn’t could be read as institutional belief in Pritchard’s potential.

He tries hard on D. He can shoot and score. He’s become a hustle player to try to get on the court. I think he could be a rotation player on a contender, but I’d also happily send him out and sign Ish Smith for the vet min and not lose any sleep.

Transition to serious discussion: how much will Pritchard’s next contract be? If he plays well this year, could easily be looking at $8 — 12 M per, and I just don’t see the value in that for the Celtics (compared to a vet min guy), unless they see him as a cheaper Brogdon replacement, but I’d be skeptical of that.

I should have all capped the “pen is” part but played it more subtle with the bold font. Oh well.

Onto other PP discussions, he can’t get more than Grant can he? Even if he has a really good year it’s a really good year considering the opportunity and that still puts him 8th in the rotation with a best case scenario and not the history of years Grant had at that level. Grant is also likely to be a starter in Dallas and I don’t see Pritchard being that anywhere.
TLDR: I could see him at most getting whatever right below Grant’s salary is.
