I still think a trade can be had between the 76ers and the Raptors with Pascal going to the 76ers, Harden to the Clippers, and Powell and Mann coming back to Toronto.

Why would the Raptors do this?

Pascal would sign an extension and stay a Raptor. There is no hurry to trade him...especially for the Clippers scraps.

Didn't Harden only opt in with the intention of being traded? If so, this is pretty shady by Morey.

I don't think Morey was part of the conversation/decision.

I think Harden was struggling to see where his big $$$ contract would come from. He decided to try his leverage to opt in & demand to get traded where he wanted to go.

It has worked every time in the past for Harden. So I see why he thought he could do it again.

I'm guessing Harden also pissed bc he agreed to take less money last year to help the team win. Now he's asking to be traded and Morey said he would, only to shut off those talks. Morey was always going to do whats best for him not harden

Harden took less money and term on a handshake agreement that a max ext would come. Morey realized Harden isn't a mx player anymore and pivoted hence the reason Harden is vexxed now. This is my understanding of all this.

I was thinking OG and Trent for Harden. Nurse loves OG (less Trent); everyone here is going to be an FA anyways next summer, so no real risk IMO (especially if OG really intends on looking elsewhere).

The level of disrespect people keep throwing at Harden who just came off a 21/10/7 on 61% TS is hilarious.

Just because he hasn't won a title doesn't mean he's trash. If that were the case then majority of the nba is trash lol. I think our only realistic chance to get him was with a Fred Sign and Trade but that ship has sailed.

He's an expiring contract that can't sign an extension with any team so giving anything more than Trent + expirings + picks would be foolish. I don't see that happening with Embiid still on their roster.

I don't think my post, taken as a whole, suggests that.

But, to argue this strictly as a thought experiment, CP3, Embiid and Westbrook are perennial losers. KD only won when he joined the winningest team OF ALL TIME.

Pascal won as #2 to Kawhi. Obviously Pascal + Harden isn't enough. Scottie (and Precious) will have to take a step forward. OPJ will have to be healthy. Ideally, Poeltl can shoot 60% from the FT line. Maybe a big trade at the deadline will have to happen. But ... it will make things interesting.

Rumours were that Clippers weren't willing to throw in TMann for Harden lol. We certainly should not be trading OG for Harden, let alone adding in a FRP.

He's past his prime and a flight risk that expects the max.

We need trades that bring in more contractual control and ideally upside as well. Having 3 UFAs next season is a fragile situation to be in.

No way Morey is trading Harden to Toronto. Morey has probably no choice but to wait it out with Harden and punish him financially.

One thing this does is destroy Morey's reputation with the players. Who is going to trust him after this situation. I can't imagine Maxey is all that happy to not be extended as well. Going to be a fun dressing room for NN to manage this year
