Just watch Fiba. Let them take care of it themselves.
If you believe Embiid is a superstar and Maxey is a future allstar, then why can’t sixers win the championship next year?

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
For my personal enjoyment I'd like to watch a year with no expectations and Maxey and Embiid play and for the team to enjoy each other. It's kind of like an elevated process-era. I don't want to see a treadmill team with garbage players but in my old age I'd enjoy watching a treadmill team with Embiid and Maxey just like how I liked watching Iverson play even when we weren't close to championship caliber most of his tenure as a 76er.

Yep. See: Lakers trade Westbrook to UTA last deadline as the example.

Seriously, people think that Morey promised Harden he'll trade him?
I'm, not sure where the media get's this stuff from. Again, it doesn't make logical sense that Morey said I'll trade you no matter what, obviously it needs to benefit the Sixers.
Morey did say "James has requested a trade and we'll attempt to honor that".
Now Harden hears "Sixers call off trade talks, intend to bring him to camp."
I realize the caveat Morey put in there, but Harden is lacking the appreciation for nuance.

He’s likely also pissy that the one team he wanted to go to apparently isn’t incredibly interested in trading for him.

I 100% believe Daryl promised Harden a bag last summer if he played well, Harden played as well as anyone could reasonably expect and now there's no bag. At the same time tho, just opt the **** out if you're going to do this. Everyone looks bad.
I would've just offered the Vanvleet 3/130, I'm guessing daryl tried to come with another 2/60 with an option type deal lol.
edit: first post in a while, forgot i even had the daryl avi. down bad.
Harden really screwed himself by opting in. Should stayed with nets but he wasn’t feeling it for the most money
Harden screwed himself when he didn't show up in game 6 in the Boston series. I would have been okay with three and $120, add a $5 million sweetener per year. But I suspect Harden was looking for more.

because you need more than two players to win it all and because Morey is dragging his feet its rather hard to build an actual roster as everything stays in limbo.
Even in a perfect world in which Biid is fully healthy, in his best shape, doesn't get shook in the playoffs and then Maxey takes a leap....the rest of the team is just pure mid at the moment man. Better tandems have been swept with better supporting casts IMO.

Still over here waiting for the league office to say Harden can’t protest the final year of his contract that he opted into.

Maxey isn't ready to be that guy next year. He'll only be 23. He could be an allstar, but that's different than the second best guy on a championship team. It's hard to win a championship.

It’s been reliably reported the clippers do want him and have engaged in trade talks. They just don’t want to give much for him. As long as embiid doesn’t care, I don’t, but you just hope he’s on board with this. I imagine he doesn’t want another Ben Simmons type year that gets derailed with a player that doesn’t want to be here and a will they or won’t they trade situation.

To me, that's the same thing.

Bingo! They “want” him in that he’ll help but he’s not worth it a whole lot.

Desperate pretenders who think they're actual contenders could pony up in February as opposed to now IMO.

If it means the end of the "max player" fantasy, that's yet another thing to thank Harden for.

If Harden was widely desired then he would not have opted in. There were no suitors with cap space or an appealing sign and trade, so he opted in intending to pick his team and short circuited the trade leverage that might have gotten him there.

Harden is an allstar level player. BUT he's also 34, an expiring contract and shown a history of quitting on teams. It's understandable that other teams are unwilling to give up the farm for him.
Problem is, trading Harden for what he's "worth" (ie. what other teams are willing to give up for him) is essentially punting on another season with Embiid in his prime. It's not going to be shocking when he inevitably demands a trade.

No it paints a picture of how ridiculous this team is, and despite that you all want to blame Joel. Most would have already left man.GoSixersBro wrote:eyeatoma wrote:Also, lol...
