LeBron's 4 rings vs Shaq's
How do you compare/rank them in terms of playoffs performance(favoring conf finals and finals), competition and whatever else you want to throw in. So basically rank them 1-8 which impressed you the most to least.

2016 has to be #1. Cleveland beat the 73 win Warriors thanks to LeBron's magnificence.

Magnificence has changed in definition over the decades.

True, I remember a time when the standards were so low for magnificence that they were often applied to ability to score against Dale Davis and an injured Rik Smits, and how even that may have constituted an improvement over the standards a few years earlier.

If averaging 33/12/9/2.4/2.8 on 51.6% from the field and 38% from three (good for a GameScore of 29.9, which all of is exceeded by the eye test) after going down 0-2 isn’t excellence - then perhaps we define the term differently.

I think personality and humility are a big characteristic of excellence and drama queen Lebron, calling himself greatest of alltime and constantly bringing attention to himself, isn't that.

Was Shaq known for his good personality and humility, along with lack of off-court drama? If not, then you bring it up only to attack player you dislike, which is quite sad.

LeBron's 2016 title would be #1 if he stayed in Cleveland the entire time and won, but he cherry-picked his way back to Cleveland. So, I would definitely rate Shaq's 2000 and 2001 as 1 and 2.

Yeah, because Shaq played for the Lakers his whole career and never changed teams

Can't compare the two. Shaq was mostly comedic, Lebron is self obsessed

Re: LeBron's 4 rings vs Shaq's
Shaq getting the threepeat is easily the biggest accomplishment between the two. We've seen too many dynastic teams fall short after two to not respect the consistency and grind there. Bron should've had a threepeat but he choked the 2011 Finals away.
I don't really agree with the concept of doing a title by title comparison because the circumstances were so different based on what was accomplished previously and the pressure, expectations, and level of mental and physical team exhaustion. In that vein, Bron's 2014 and 2018 seasons kind of stand out fron an on court perspective even though he was a DH. They're almost as impressive as his title runs. Almost.
In any event, if we're forced to do this exercise and pretend like none of the context exists...

2001 - Shaq deserves endless critisicm for throwing away a RS in his prime even though he was so dominant by the end

All of those championships by both player's can be scrutinized and said they could've early not won them, except Shaq 2001, a rampage run. Shaq never choked anything either.

But 2001 Shaq had so much more to scrutinize! At least another 40 lbs worth! His fat ass is lucky he didn't break down and get hurt before finally playing himself into shape.

This dude lives rent free in your head, at levels I’ve never seen before. The other dude literally crowned himself and gets salty on TNT constantly.
They’re both confident in their ability and they should be lol

2016 > 2013 even if you think 2013 was his peak, 2016 was basically the legacy defining season for him
