It's obviously cool but I wonder if it's sustainable. Got to think someone like booker might have a longer run?

It’ll be Luka barring injuries. He’s already very close to Giannis in this stat and he’ll only be like 31 by the end of the decade.

Doesnt look like Giannis too sad about not playing with Greece in the world cup. Guy deserves some vacation time for sure

Shaking hands with Drake? That's like Steve Austin shaking hands with Vince McMahon. Cue JR: "GIANNIS HAS SOLD HIS SOUL TO SATAN HIMSELF!!"

another reminder that although we get worked up about some of these interpersonal dramas, these guys are all just living the dream and probably dont care nearly as much about that stuff as we do. it's all gravy.

I don't think Bucks fans really care about Drake. It's just a fun bit from the 2019 series that Drake is our enemy. One of those things that makes sports a little more fun if you play it up.

I remember watching the warriors and thunder go at it in 2016 thinking these guys hated each other and then KD joined them. Then seen that Lebron and Draymond are damn near best friends even after all the nut punching and calling each other bitches on the court.

It’s definitely a lot wwe storyline type stuff going on in us fans minds when these mfs really are just hooping for millions and unless it’s gets real personal, it’s all one big brotherhood. I much prefer it that way anyway.

Giannis skips Greek NT with "knee problem" , kicks the soccer ball like nothing, makes the Siu Christiano celebration, while he already learned his Chinese students the fundamentals of basketball. Disappointed, thought he loved Greece more than that. He looks his knee is fine with zero pain or else he wouldn't do these.
I guess he is loyal to whoever club pays him.

Kicking a soccer ball a couple of times is not the same as playing in a basketball tournament.

And his surgery was on his LEFT knee. Come on now.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Although we don't know him personally, he doesn't strike me as conniving. Did he look at the roster this year and think "Eh, do I really want to kill myself to try and advance?" Probably. I don't think he's faking the knee procedure.

Read on Twitter

“The real question’s not going to be this year — numbers wise it doesn’t make sense,” Antetokounmpo said. “But next year, next summer it would make more sense for both parties. Even then, I don’t know.”

He added: “I would not be the best version of myself if I don’t know that everybody’s on the same page, everybody’s going for a championship, everybody’s going to sacrifice time away from their family like I do. And if I don’t feel that, I’m not signing.”

Milwaukee fired its coach, Mike Budenholzer, and hired Adrian Griffin, who had been an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors. That change, Antetokounmpo said, is part of why he is unsure if he’ll sign an extension.

“You’ve got to see the dynamics,” he said. “How the coach is going to be, how we’re going to be together. At the end of the day, I feel like all my teammates know and the organization knows that I want to win a championship. As long as we’re on the same page with that and you show me and we go together to win a championship, I’m all for it. The moment I feel like, oh, yeah, we’re trying to rebuild —”

He paused briefly before continuing.

“There will never be hard feelings with the Milwaukee Bucks,” he said. “I believe that we’ve had 10 unbelievable years, and there’s no doubt I gave everything for the city of Milwaukee. Everything. Every single night, even when I’m hurt. I am a Milwaukee Buck. I bleed green. I know this.

“This is my team, and it’s going to forever be my team. I don’t forget people that were there for me and allowed me to be great and to showcase who I am to the world and gave me the platform. But we have to win another one.”

Most of that isn't anything brand new, he's made a lot of similar comments in the past and they always get framed by the media in he most "he's leaving" way possible even when they have to bend the truth to fit the narrative. Like this:

Milwaukee fired its coach, Mike Budenholzer, and hired Adrian Griffin, who had been an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors. That change, Antetokounmpo said, is part of why he is unsure if he’ll sign an extension.

All reports were that we hired Griffin because he was the preferred choice of Giannis but somehow they've twisted that one as a reason to leave. Of course there's an unknown element with a new coach and he wants to see how it goes before committing but the way they frame it seems disingenuous at best.

This one however, did stop me for second:

"everybody’s going to sacrifice time away from their family like I do. And if I don’t feel that, I’m not signing.”

That is a weirdly specific thing to say. Not sure I love publicly throwing a little shade at your teammates unprompted, but maybe I'm taking it the wrong way.

One way to win another one is to make your free throws. This year is going to be unbearable now.

I guess we have one more shot at it this year with him...Maybe two I guess if you are willing to let him walk for nothing. That's a bummer.

Isn't his family almost always with him? Do we need to put Liam on the roster now too? Will the Heat and/or Knicks carry his clown act brother on the roster in perpetuity for him. Really weird comment.
