I saw a lot of Boston stuff about them hoping they could get him to signOubre into their space (like $4.6 million or something).

What's your take on Oubre? Seems pretty split on here.

I don't have much of a take, but I'm not too high on him. He took 17 shots a game this year and averaged 1 assist per game. He shot below 32% from 3 and his TS% was 53.4%. So he may put up #s, but at below avg efficiency so the more you are relying on him for points, the more you're likely to lose.

He has never played much of a role on a good team. When he was with GS, he was really bad and they it was the worst they've been outside of the season Curry was out with his hand, Klay was out and Draymond played here and there.

The year he played with them Curry, Wiggins and Draymond all played most of the games, and they also had Poole and Looney, but finished as the 8th seed, but then lost 2 play-in games to the Lakers and Grizzlies, dropping out of the playoffs.

He played a little better the year before..at 56% TS%, his career high. But league average is now over 58%.

Basically he seems like a volume scorer on low efficiency. He is a flashy dunker..he is one of the league leaders, particularly for his position, in dunks. He's one of those guy that is a lot more flashy than full of substance. On the surface he probably looks better than he is, and doesn't really provide winning impact.

When we had him I thought he'd make most sense as a 6th man, and a bench scorer seems to be the role he would best be suited for, but I'm not sure how much he expects or will get paid.

Good finds. I've been saying prior to FA that some dude(s) will be left out from the game of musical chairs and we should keep 1 roster spot available, but that wasn't the case I guess. I am happy with the group that is in now and how Ishbia approached this whole FA thing.
That being said, I could see Oubre being better than any of our role players if one thing goes bad. Say KBD regresses on D a bit, or Yuta's or Okogies shot doesn't drop or KD misses 40 games instead of the "regular 20" Those are very legit assumptions in my opinion. Oubre would be very welcome in that case.

And I am very eager to see Ross and TJ next year (not on the Suns). It will be a good retrospective talking point on Montys coaching. I always believed that at least one of the 2 should be a more important rotation piece, but that never happened. They are not all star (or even starting) caliber players, but they have their strenghts and if they are put in a position to succeed they will offer valuable NBA minutes. Never happened here.

Sad that he plays for his country, looks fit, putting in work to create (even though hes not fully there yet), trying new things as he can, building chemistry with new teamate Eric Gordon. And ya'll still are haters! Like shut up and give him props for actually working.

Dude can come out in first 10 games and avg 30/12 and have 5 dunks, and you would still talk crap

Mate, don't take this the wrong way, but please take those down a notch. While you have some legit points from time to time, this is getting out of hand... i mean i'm afraid you'll post a "leave Britney alone" video here any minute... :D

I kept wondering... is Ayton doing a bit here? He trying to get into acting? Could use a flopper on the court. Any amount of Hollywood might be helpful.

I think these guys are going to be a lot of time on the court together, so having them build chemistry and camaraderie over the summer is pretty nice.

I think Ayton will be the first guy subbed out, as having him play with the second unit will give him more touches - and Eubanks should suffice as a center with the starters for periods against most match-ups.

Ideally want Ayton in the 2nd unit too but Eubanks is too small for any top Center, it'd be like Kaminsky in 2021.

Can Eubanks get 6 minutes in the first quarter against Jokic, Davis, Sabonis, Valanciunas, Gobert etc

And then rely on Ayton creating the same havoc when he's never really exploited size mismatches so far.

My impression is Ayton plays better with better players who can set him up not really as an increase the usage and he'll get better type.

It is interesting we added Azubuike when we already have 4 guys who can play center but none of the backups have his size, so maybe there is this thought too internally.

I'm always happy to see players try to expand their game. Particularly just trying to add a simple pump fake and drive which we've only seen a handful of times on the Suns. That's something that's nice to have even as a 4th option behind Book KD Beal.

Not saying it's already been added to his repertoire after half an off-season but this is sort of how you get better at the game of basketball lol.

I have never seen the level of scrutiny that a player had in what is basically a basketball scrimmage that DA is getting from some of our fans lol.

If he sits out it's looked on as him not caring and if he happens to fumble a pass in an exhibition game it means he will never ever be able to handle basic passes in basketball again. It's absurd. This is bordering on obsession for some.

Dude always has had buttery fingers. Not expecting that to change.

What id like to see is 24-28 minutes of sprinting up and down the court. DA got lazy with the plodding grandPaul. This team need to run.

Interesting game tonight.

Name by name Argentina do not look a great team but they are a very well managed team that play together and move the ball really well.

Delia at 6'10 is their biggest player but they play agressive and smart team defense, so already before the game I am saying that this is gonna be a nice and difficult test for the Bahamas and Ayton.

He has struggled with basic passes his whole career guy..

It's ironic, because I don't see you uttering a word about not overly praising him because it was JUST AN EXHIBITION GAME. Funny how that works. Apparently all of his issues are now resolved and he's developed Batman & Robin chemistry with Gordon already.

Perhaps you should take umbrage with your cohorts to perhaps wait a few games before commenting? Nobody critical of Ayton immediately jumped on here to rate his performance in that game. They merely responded to the gloating.

It wasn't an exhibition game. FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament.

The Bahamas team is trying to go to the 2024 Olympics.

I think so, Argentina is one of the best national teams in the world.

They lack now elite talent and they had some bad luck so they will not play the World Cup for the first time in more than 40 years...but they want to go to the Olympics next year.

They play at home and Prigioni looks a nice young HC. We will see.

Whatever.

A pre-qualifier vs. an absolute TRASH team from Cuba. I mean are we really using them as a litmus?

The point still stands.

Any basketball game against Cuba is an exibition game if you have 2-3 starting caliber NBA players. We'll see how they (he) fare(s) against a basketball team tonight. Hopefully at least the same or better.

I understand that it was a mistake and obviously it's not a big deal but if you are gonna put a sentence in bold and with capital letters it would be better if it's true and not a false statement. Not just in a basketball forum but everywhere.

And it was Cuba, not Puerto Rico.

Yeah, it was an easy win but everything can happen in those FIBA tournaments. Ayton played great and looked faster to me and had +37 in his minutes on the court.

Enigmatics hates to hate! Forget what dude says

Ayton can avg 40 ppg and 15 rpg and he will comment the negative he sees. Dude is that type of guy! Don't worry. I am loving this new ayton look, I love how he is building chemistry with Gordon!

Also Gordon only scored 16 pts vs that horrible CUBA team Enigmatics! Does that mean he is some scrub, and going to do nothing for our team! :banghead: :banghead:

They played 1/2 the game! Calm yo tatas
