He tries hard on D. He can shoot and score. He’s become a hustle player to try to get on the court. I think he could be a rotation player on a contender, but I’d also happily send him out and sign Ish Smith for the vet min and not lose any sleep.

Same. But I also understand that I inherently hate shedding physical assets when I believe I could get physical assets in return. And while it's clearly an option 3 some of us don't have forefront in our thinking, this very well could just be they see the value of his 3pt shooting for this season and have no intention of even extending him the qualifying offer next off-season.

I'll admit to having zero interest in the guy in his draft year simply because of his physical profile and age, until BCGM mentioned him in a positive light (to put it mildly). Not that I put unchecked faith in anyone's evaluation, I did put the time in to check him out a few weeks before that draft. What intrigued me enough to be interested was the deep-deep 3pt shooting potential. I thought he got stuck in the paint too much and likely wouldn't be a floor general type, but, I do appreciate the value of having a guy who can stretch a defense that far out.

I think if the roster basically holds, he's a good fit, especially now that they are back to the twin towers approach and having a legit inside-out threat in Brogdon. Again, hopefully Brogdon is held to an expectation of more "give" this year while also having enough "take" to keep him satiated. But I really don't see them extending or likely re-signing him next year, unless he gets a frigid market as an UFA.

I think so too. He kind reminds me of t.j. McConnell first three years and I think he can get to the current version of t.j. McConnell. Same height and if he just goes all out pesky d that could add a steal per game. I don't know if he is the passer t.j. is but if he can fix a few things. I'm not mad about him. Now what can we get out him I voted for late first? Him on u.s.a squad is only going to be beneficial. I also didn't care for him asking for a trade a lil immature, he had to understand that he wasn't better than smart, white, Brogdon. But I also liked him before that ish and though he had potential. So really imo the ball handlers has depth and can realistically get something for him get under tax and with what's left in free agent Id argue there are more options compared to other positions.
As they say "good problem to have"!

I don't follow. His actions suggested that he understood EXACTLY that. Hence why he would ask for a trade; knowing full well that he wouldn't develop behind all of those guys. Don't forget, his contract situation is coming up soon. Is it hard to fathom that a young kid wants to play somewhere so he can earn his next contract?

Heck yeah that’s why everyone is in here talking about what the size of a PP extension could be.

This is a pivotal season for his career. This season will go a long way in telling us what type of career he will have. Will he just be an end of the bench guy who might wash out of the league in the next 2-3 years? Or will he be a legit top 8 rotation player for the next 8 years? Or somewhere in between?

Clearly, he's a very motivated guy, hard worker. He really believes in himself, seems like he's got a chip on his shoulder. I think he's gonna really play some good basketball this season. Especially since he should have a chance at more consistent minutes, with Smart gone.

I think he'll be a very solid 9th man this season. Hauser is gonna be a very solid 8th man. Brissett will be a solid 10th man. Kornet will be a solid 11th man. Walsh will be a solid 12th man and Banton will be a solid 13th man.

We're in good shape, depth-wise. It's a long, grueling season though with 12 back to backs, guys will get hurt. Let's just get 1 more wing and 1 more big with these last 2 roster spots and go win banner 18!
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

If he can't get an extension in games & minutes played, it'll be harder times ahead for PP as his perceived value around the league goes through further shrinkage. He's impotent on the bench and is desperate for any opportunity to flash his shooting stroke... But the pressure could also bring about performance anxieties, which would suck (or blow) for PP...

Going on a self-imposed exile, now.

I get why as you explained I was more or less ticked off about publicly doing that, typically not all cases I hate not honoring the contract. Speaking out about it in media drive me bonkers. The action I personally felt was immature but normal these days so. But I felt like it was worded awkwardly I but I'm not the best at that and often travelling or working so I type once and check back when I can. So hopefully that explains it I think the dude has way more talent than has shown that and clearly the whole leagues management sees that. That why I'm not rushing a trade or at this point thinking one is coming but also not excepting less than a 1st for him.he should get a lot of minutes here this year hopefully that's enough for him

A couple of belated thoughts on Pritchard's selection to the Select Team:

1. No doubt there was a lot of input in those selections from Kerr, who has prepared to coach against Pritchard in 1 playoff series, and from Spoelstra, who has prepared to coach against Pritchard in 2 or 3 playoff series.

2. No doubt the Celtics were specifically asked about Pritchard as well.

USAB also likes bringing back players that’s been part of their program in the past. Pritchard’s participated in at least 3 tourneys for them since a decade ago.

Smaller guys don’t tend to last as long, no way he’s got 8 solid years even as a PP supporter. 5-6 years, I’m thinking a PP extension would be 2+1 even.

Would be hard to beat the dick contract at that rate but then again I suppose first round deals aren’t fully gtd.
