The Celtics recently had free agent Glen Robinson III in for a workout as they look to add to their roster, per league sources. Boston will also work out Louis King (per HoopsHype) & TJ Warren & Lamar Stevens (per The Athletic) this week. Boston has at least 2 open roster spots.

I don't like Oubre's game but man he can't even get a workout here over any of these guys lol

Oubre thinks he is going to get paid by Miami after a Lillard deal. Don't think there is going to be a Lillard deal.

The C's probably just don't think he's a good fit because he's a high volume, low efficiency shooter. High usage guy who doesn't pass.

Warren kind of fits that description too. So who knows, maybe they'll bring in Oubre next. Then again, Oubre has had some issues in the past with his attitude, being kind of a bad teammate, malcontent, bad locker room guy so perhaps they're just staying away.

I think they see Warren or Stevens as possibly a solid 2-way wing off the bench and King is just a possible camp invite guy..

I'd rather have Oubre on the Celts,
than Oubre on Miami killing the Celts.
Because we all know that's just what is going to happen...

Not gonna lie, the more I see and read about Lamar, I think he might be a borderline all-NBA level defender. And he just turned 26, he's entering his fourth season. Which means he hasn't peaked yet - he's still getting better and he's entering his prime right now.

We lost a 3x all-NBA defensive team recipient, a guy who was the 3x winner of the league's hustle award. Let's get a new defensive stopper out on the perimeter.

Oh and he can defend guys like Markannen, too (who is 7'0"). And in this vid we also see him defending the speedy Clarkson.

How about some playmaking?

-1st play he drives, draws the defense and makes a nice dump down pass to the big for a layup
-2nd play, he pushes it ahead on the break, goes to the basket, does a nice job of being patient to let the play develop instead of rushing into a dumb shot/pass, keeps his dribble alive and then makes the nice pass out to the open shooter for a 3

Oubre is a punk.

We haven't signed Garuba yet? What is Stevens waiting for?

Do we need to start a GoFundMe page to get Garuba signed? The guy is a good deal and is Rob insurance. Seems a versatile defender that can switch quickly is right in the Celtics wheelhouse. Or was.

Garuba and Lamar Stevens are option 1 and 2 on my list. Wondering if Brad has something bigger in the works since neither open spot is filled yet.

Apparently JT is waiting until 2025 and on to start showing his recruiting skills? I just hope he isn't recruited somewhere else first...

Can't have both Griffin and Garuba. Celtics seem intent on bringing back Griffin.

I'm not so sure if they are intent on bringing back Blake. If that's the plan, fine. Maybe Blake is still shopping around? Why haven't they already re-signed him?

Personally, I'd rather have Garuba at this point. Blake was a great presence by all accounts, but mainly on the bench and in the locker room. There is a bigger need for athleticism, health and youth in the frontcourt. Garuba is certainly more raw, but he can close out coverage in a way the Griffin can only reminisce about.

Those quotes aren’t real, c’mon son. It’s Celtics fans trying to get engagements on Twitter, so they can get $67.

Also, I’d rather Blake back than Garuba.

My take on the current free agents mentioned by Celtics or getting a lot of mention on this board.
TJ Warren:
I'm concerned about if he is healthy, but if he is, I think he would be the best scorer off our bench and I would feel more comfortable giving more rest to Tatum and Brown if he gets a spot.
Lamar Stevens:
Not as much of a scorer as Warren, but better defensively. After moving on from Smart and Grant, we could use a bigger defensive stopper, and Stevens would seem to fill that need (in addition to Brissett) Stevens being 6'8 verses Smart at 6'4 and Grant 6'6 could be a difference maker.
Glen Robinson III:
Been out of the NBA for 3 years, don't know what his health is. I think we have better options available.
Louis King:
Pretty good showing in G-league, but will that transfer to the NBA? He has been around too long for a 2-way, so that option is not available. As with Robinson, I believe better options are available.
DJ Steward:
He is a possibly an option for a 2-way only. Good scorer, but at 6'2, he is not a passer / point guard.
Usman Garuba:
I think Garba on a 2-way would be great, but not as a roster spot.
Blake Griffin:
If he wants a roster spot, it is his.

With all this, my order of preference:
14th roster spot - Warren or Stevens. I would be fine with either depending on Warren's health.
15th roster spot - Griffin or another big not mentioned yet.
3rd 2-way - Garuba

No they aren’t lol, pet peeve of mine. Flagg’s favorite player is Tatum, that’s the extent of it.

I wonder how Brad Stevens handles this. -- Can he actually bring all these Guys to Camp, on Exhibit 10's?
Some of them don't seem like they would go for that.

I'd like Brad Stevens to bring some of these guys to Camp, iff poss.

Get some kinda competition going for Training Camp.
We have several spots left, on the 21-Man Offseason Roster.

Garuba is the perfect replacement for Grant Williams. He has many of the same skills: guards 3 positions, can shoot the three (not as well as GWill but that is likely to improve), can play small ball center when needed, gives you a big physical defender against players like Giannis and Bam (Garuba is also taller than GWill with longer arms)-- and all for a tiny fraction of the price. Why can't Stevens see this?
