No one has a more vested interest in him staying than Real-GM-dot-com-slash-Bucks-Board.

The owners can move the team to Nashville or Seattle and walk away with a cool billion apiece.

This was always going to be a worry whether Giannis leaves in 3-years or when he retires. Water is wet. Time is inevitable.

Looking forward to reading after each loss this season "well that's it, he's leaving for sure".
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Honestly I’m just numb to all this stuff lol. It’s been years of this **** ever since he became a superstar.

I’m just gonna tune it all out and my focus will be on MarJon Leonard and Andre Iguodala Jr.

Giannis probably saw what Dirk put up with in Dallas - Cuban almost immediately dismantling the championship team after winning and never getting close again - and really doesn't want that to happen in Milwaukee. Got no fault with him continuing to remind the organization that he wants to win and that the team should have that as a priority.

Giannis is a pretty careful speaker but I think he sometimes doesn't realize that what he communicates can be taken subtextually in different ways, especially when giving long quotations. It makes him a great interview, but for soundbite media, there's a tendency to focus on individual lines. For the "teammates committed" portion, I feel like Giannis looks around and sees a good group of guys he likes, but also admits that if that ever changes, he doesn't want to be in that situation i.e. of guys looking out for themselves. I look at it more as a "don't get a guy like Harden or Beal" than a "one of these guys gotta go" type line.

Just wait until the Christmas Day game when Stephen A starts yelling how Giannis needs to go to the Knicks before the game....Even if the Bucks are like 42-4 at that point and the Knicks are under .500

I think he does this just to **** with Riley and Ujiri. Make them **** up their future while they wait for the hope of Giannis.

1 thing about these situations is that they are so fluid. He could be 100% set on leaving for NYC and NYC is on-board. 6 months from now they trade for Embiid at the deadline. So much can happen from a personal side, health aspect, team aspect, destination team, etc. Anyone who thinks they know for 100% is full of ****.

He's probably more annoyed about having to talk about possible free-agency 1-2 years down the road.

Just wanted to point out the NY Times came to him, in LA, to his family business photo shoot.

And asked him if he would extend early and cost himself money in the process while locking himself into a team whose future beyond two years is not clear at all.

Whatever people want to read into this, some of the response is at least based in him not wanting to be asked about this all season.

All that said, I’d still go all in for Dame but that’s because I don’t think this core can win it again with Midds injury issues and Jrue’s postseason offense issues.

Giannis wants people to read a NY Times article about his family business. Pretty dull topic. Toss in a little click bait about his future. Voilà.

People really do give too much credit to these guys when sometimes they're literally just speaking off the cuff. Feels like Lebron's legacy of constantly trying to manipulate the media narrative through his PR firm and business ventures has caused fans to think that every NBA superstar these days is always trying to further some agenda or influence various roster decisions. I personally don't have a Giannis "Decision-esque" heel turn on my bingo card in the next 3-4 years, because it really isn't that complicated...

Giannis gave an interview to the NY Times. Not the Athletic or JS. He's clearly got bigger things on his mind than Milwaukee.

well obviously we all feel that way and right now he does too but if injuries or age or bad moves or whatever else changes our/his hand...then the absolute last thing id want to do is hang onto him when his value is high and he knows, and we know, the window has closed?

literally the only thing that is an issue is if he wants to play next year without an extension. for me thats a dealbreaker considering how literally every other star signs that thing and then "asks out". the theory he could just walk is the only thing i would be sure we wouldnt subject ourselves too. if hes under contract and wanted out because we couldnt win then id be all aboard and respect that wish even if it was to a handful of teams id be ok with it

I always get the vibe that Giannis has no intentions of leaving the Bucks. But he likes trolling the Heat, Raptors, Lakers ect of the world.

But his trolling makes Bucks fans understandably nervous. I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I always get.

I love Giannis and hope retires as a Milwaukee Buck. But I am more nervous about his game falling off a cliff when he's on the other side of 30 than I am about him leaving the Bucks.

At worst, Giannis is currently the 2nd best player in the league, but he hasn't been on a great trajectory career wise for the past couple seasons.

One of the things I am most interested to see this season when it comes to Bud vs Griffin is how much Giannis gets loaded manged under Griffin. Or if Giannis really does miss a ton of games due to legitimate knee soreness. I personally think a lot of it was load management under Bud, but I could be wrong.

But if I am in-fact wrong and Giannis really does miss all those games due to legit knee soreness at age 28. I would hate to see how many games he's going to be missing once he hits 30.

For a guy to be 27 turning 28 (last season) and miss as many games he did, that's a pretty huge red flag if it wasn't load management.
