KRS-ONE is either my 1a or 1b favorite rapper of all time so that alone makes it sound like that was an amazing show.

Not to hijack this thread because I know generally I would've put stuff like this in the OT thread but it was legend bro. Everyone was good but the energy notably shifted with KRS-1 and then later Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick came on the stage. If you're of a certain age then you know who these men are and what they have meant to hip-hop. Had the party live from the moment they hit the stage.

Moving here so we don’t hijack the other thread lol. I’m guessing I’m too far from the East Coast but I’m going to have to check and see if any of that is making it this way. I’ve never seen KRS in concert, and truth be told I didn’t even know Slick Rick was able to come back into the US lol.

Didn't get a picture of her but I almost forgot that Spinderella was there too. Forgot if I mentioned this in the other thread or not but Doug E beatboxed at different speeds for like 4 minutes without stopping for a break. Was incredible.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Just watched the first two episodes of Ashoka on Disney. Not bad. Very star warsy with light saber fights, robots, spaceships and republic vs empire. Al of the powerful people are women. As a C.J. Cherryh fan I'm used to that, but it has to be a conscious marketing choice by Disney. I'm sure you will see the action figures for sale soon.

I’ve been watching Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix and it’s okay. Was surprised to see Glen Big Baby Davis in a cameo as poker player!

The original Lincoln Lawyer movie is great.

Yeah it's a pretty standard legal drama and nothing special but the characters are likable and it's easy to watch. Big Baby was a surprise for sure haha.

I also watched Who Is Erin Carter on Netflix and it was just ok too imo. I'd seen a few articles about how it was an amazing international smash hit, so my expectations were high and I was a bit disappointed. Not terrible though.

Anyone watch The Leftovers on HBO from like 6-8 years ago? I just got into it recently and I like it and hate it at the same time but keep thinking about it when I'm not watching and I'm eager to keep going.

The story is 2% of people suddenly disappear from the face of the Earth one day. And the aftermath and fallout for all the survivors, or leftovers as it were. And that's a springboard for this battle of sorts between regular folks and a weird cult that pops up with people who wear all white and chain smoke cigarettes and don't ever talk. They write stuff down on paper to communicate, and stand all over town just weirdly staring at people, and many confrontations and drama ensue.

Very strange concept for a show but it's typical HBO high quality and something about it has made me kinda obsessed with it even though it annoys me in ways lol.

When it first came out, I tried to get into it but failed twice (never getting past a couple of episodes due to its all-too-serious, depressing, drab tone). Dunno what happened about 5 years ago when I soldiered on and binged it. Ended up being one of my favorite shows of all-time haha. Mainly a show about loss and grief so not really a series that's easy to get into. Third (final) season is one of the best written seasons in the history of everything! I've seen that final season at least 5 times lol. Patrick Somerville, one of its show writers, later adapted Station Eleven to television, another favorite show/mini-series of mine.

These companies force people to do illegal things that lose money for the entertainers! I can’t win for losing! I bet they will lose NBALP which i switched because of in the first place! I can pay to stream but they are often behind on action! Ughhhhhhh!!! Disney ain’t ish btw cause they are price gouging already overly inflated prices!

Anybody saw 'Experimenter' (2015)? Cool movie about the Milgram experiment, with Peter Sarsgaard, Winona Ryder, Jim Gaffigan and John Leguizamo. I loved it. (Disclaimer: I'm a sucker for the kind of social-psychology studies that the movie discusses.)

Not that the world needed another one, but HBO delivered a meme/gif for the Celtics/Boston haters in the recent episode of Winning Time.

That new One Piece show on Netflix is a lot of fun. I'm not very familiar with the anime versions but the live action version is well worth a watch. You can tell they put a lot into it and I guess it's already broken some Netflix streaming records. Good for adults down to tweens I would say. Or even younger kids if a little violence and swearing is acceptable. Crowd pleaser for sure.

Checked out the preview and I'll be checking this one out lol. I liked the Bridge so that got me interested in the very beginning of the trailer even.

What an amazing troll job. Let someone make a show about the Lakers only to have it end with their biggest rivals beating them. Hollywood must be rolling over in their graves.
