Guys hurting themselves trying to block Luka's shot, meanwhile he is just in auto pilot and goes for the soft bank shot.

So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

SLO defence sucks at the highest level. To give to Venezuela 51pts per first two Q’s is a red flag

Luka with 3rd foul already...if Venezuela keeps shooting just as well in the 2nd they might just squeeze in an upset.

VEN shooting is not sustainable but SLO defense does suck. Venezuelans find open men at will.

Funny how nba players look human when they can’t take unlimited steps.

Multiple travels called in the first few minutes.

Reaves again with a spark off the bench.

Brunson Ingram and Edwards can learn from the bench and stop forcing things on offense.

Team is much better whenever Haliburton replaces Brunson. Like not even close better.

Only one not seeing this is Kerr. The team has plenty of scorers, you need a guy who is pass happy as the PG, not another chucker.

Just one game. They will be fine, and especially fine in Paris olympics when Wemby and Embiid (and Ntilikina) will be added to the roster.

I agree about Gobert though, so limited. But it's not like the Twolves didn't know what they were getting.

Wemby and Embiid are monster additions. But they'll also have Dieng, Sidy, and Bilal. That's a strong extra five/six along with Frank. France will be formidable.

EDIT: I forgot about Rupert, too.

It happens since they need to adjust and/or nerves. In this NZ vs US matchup, expect a 20-0 blast or something when they shake off the cobwebs.

Yeah agreed. Hali is a perfect PG for FIBA.

Brunson would probably be better off the bench as a scoring presence.

Yeah, keen to see what they do at PG, maybe they just play huge?

Lol, is this thread going to be like the 2021 thread where everyone **** on the nba, it's players, and talks about how Fiba is so much better as the americans win the whole thing while fiba refs make the same calls as nba ones. I'm guessing yes.

New Zealand playing physical, at least on challenging those drives. At least they are making it hard for the Americans.

Yeah, it’s such a glaring difference when guys like Hali and Reaves are out there trying to get everyone a good shot, and Edwards that is still putting his head down thinking shoot first. Hope he adjusts.

He is one of the few players on the team who is used to having an impact in limited minutes and with limited shots. These other dudes like Ingram or even Edwards can basically miss their first 8 shots with their respective teams and it's still all good cause they might go on a crazy shooting run afterwards, but that just doesn't work in this kind of "dream team" where essentially everyone is a good player.
