The point of a no look pass is you are looking at someone the defense thinks you are passing to.
Not your own backcourt.

Imo the question is who can actually exploit that weakness? The best traditional bigs in the tournament (offense) are Hernangomez, Shermadini, Haddadi. None of which are huge offensive threats.
I already noticed during the qualifying stages last year how Olynyk was feasting and that trend has continued. He is getting good looks from three both in set play and transition. Also uses his mobility to get open mid range looks.
I'd say the best traditional big in the tournament who can take advantage of another team's lack of size is Valanciunas. The guy can beast in the low post against smaller defenders when he gets rolling.
And yeah, Olynyk is great in FIBA ball, and a very important player for Canada. He can play PF or small ball C depending on matchups. The big man spots are a bit of a weakness for Canada, but it's much worse for Australia, especially since they lost Landale.

The point of the no look is to direct the defense’s attention away from the player you intend to pass to. Don’t overthink it.

He is good but what are you basing this on? His many clutch plays in the playoffs? Or in the FIBA world cup? I mean how many games has he played where it "mattered"?

The point is to no look. Yeah, I kinda hate when guys clearly passing to the guy they r looking at, and just after the majority of passing motion is complete, they slid their heads thinking they are cool. It's a fake no looker to say the least, Haliburton is very good tho. I genuinely love his game.

Correct, this photo is just for the standard highlights.

This is one of my pet peeves as well. LeBron used to do this all the time on the Heat and I always found it comical... Especially when I'd contrast that with someone like Jason Kidd, who's no-looks were more often than not true no-looks.

i think this is a misunderstanding, Paolo just about to start his 2nd year in the league still 20 years old...i guess he means paolo may be overlooked but that's just part of the territory playing in Orlando, he has a chance to change that.

He said it…he’s not used to never having the ball in his hands. Kerr rightfully wants him to cut and play off the ball, find spaces to attack when he gets it, find open spaces in the defense to catch and shoot. But that is a skill that is learned and developed over years, not weeks. He’s kind of a fish out of water right now.

That's always such a lame excuse. You can still do other things. Brunson, for example, took a couple of charges today. Haliburton and Banchero both made big defensive impacts, which has nothing to do with touches. Reaves gets us a couple of easy baskets every game just by getting his hands on the ball defensively. Be a basketball player.

I was so so so wrong about him, I was seeing an Odom for international competition...he'd fit right in these dreadful 2002 and 2004 US teams.

Ingram showing the world that he's a 2nd tier star. That's probably the worst place to be in the NBA. A star, but not a superstar and not great at any particular area to be an excellent role player.

with the talent Ingram has he should already know how to do these things.
hes going into his 8th season and about to turn 26 years old next month.
