Would you take Amen Thompson with Curry’s shooting (everything about his shooting 1 to 1) or Wemby in the draft

Athletic wing with a7 foot wingspan and destined to be the greatest shooter of all time? I'll take that. It's a sure thing.

Thompson with Curry's shooting has a much higher floor imo. Instant catalyst to any offense. A 6'7 210 outlier athlete whom can punish a defense anywhere close to the arc (even beyond sometimes) is a damn alien of an offensive player. Unsure about defense , still but that shouldn't take away from the premise.

Not even an argument until Wemby at least comes in and starts putting up 24/13/5bpg type numbers on good efficiency. Because this Steph Thompson guy is at least mvp level player if not mvp+.

Next from TicTac:

Would you take LeBron James or Wemby?

A Curry who has Amen Thompson tools is clearly the GOAT.

This is a no brainer. Steph Curry, at 6'-3" with mediocre athleticism, is already a top 15-ish all-time player, and arguably in the top 10. Give him a muscular 6'-7" frame, a 7-foot wingspan, and top 1% athleticism and he's the best player of all time by a pretty good margin.

That's not the question, though. Curry isn't who he is just because of his shooting skills and you don't get a larger and more athletic Curry here. You get a GOAT-level shooting Amen Thompson. There's a difference.

I have Amen as a better prospect than Curry rather easily if he has anywhere close to Curry shooting. He is a good defender year 1 and will likely be an elite defender by year 3-4 as he fills out a bit. He has enough on-ball skills [Great dribbler for his size, excellent court vision and good passer, operates and navigates the pick and roll well] that if he were a lights out shooters we would have been talking about him as the potential #1 pick over Wemby.

But now we KNOW good of a shooter he will be. We don't have to speculate about how good this or how good that will be about a prospect. We simply know for a fact how good one of his attributes will be.
