With the whole Kobe Bryant edition and Kobe career moments mode and Kobe all over the marketing for the game, it's insane if they don't have the 2009 or 2010 Lakers as a Classic team you can play online with. Kobe, Gasol, Odom, MWP, Fisher, Luke Walton, all of them are already in the game. Bynum is weird so maybe he won't sign the deal for his likeness, but still. There's no reason to not have them.

Hell no. They completely broke the game 5-10 years ago. And everyone still buying it is complicit in the downfall of the game.

2k19 has the most unique gameplay I've ever seen, at least defensively, because when you go for steals it makes the ball go loose and bounce/roll along the floor before you grab it, whereas the other 2k games have steals that go right into your hands mostly.
That's why it was so fun to play 2k19 with Zion especially, because there were a lot of fastbreaks because sometimes when you knocked the ball loose it rolled up the court quickly.
I've joked that they may have made 2k19 for Zion, because it was his first year in a game, and it gave him lots of dunk opportunities.

Actually 2k20 was the first year with Zion

Yep, that's true, I was thinking of Zion in 2k19 but it was 2k20.
That's because I purchased 2k11, 2k12, 2k13, 2k14, 2k15, 2k16, 2k17, 2k18, 2k19, 2k20 last year, and my memory is a bit mixed up from playing them all in a short space of time.
Ben Simmons is actually the player whom I had fun with in 2k19 because of all the loose balls and fastbreaks he created....

That reminds me, I can put Ben Simmons in my 2k24 line-up, because his rating won't be too high so I can get him in the 4th round of the draft maybe....

They refuse to redo the trading part of the game every year. It's still using trade logic mechanics from 2k12.

You also cant sign certain guys on there on two ways even though in the real NBA you can. They are just about the casuals.

Lack of a coaching pool based on real life people is annoying as well.

Getting Championship edition with all the in game perks but most importantly NBA league pass for a year free ($140 value this season). Game is practically free.

I agree, its SUPER LAZY the way they don't include many coaches. Huge amount of famous coaches they could could include and they don't

It will be SUPER EASY for me to draft Ben Simmons in the 4th Round of the fantasy draft, because his rating is only 76 now!

Whereas the Ben Simmons all-time rating is 86.

Looks like 2023 Ben Simmons (overall rating 76) is awesome, and has way better acceleration and steals than the All-Time Ben Simmons (overall rating 86)!
I'm definitely drafting Ben Simmons with my 4th round pick, the highest quality 76 ever!

I have purchased every 2K game since 1999. I spend 95% of the time playing my career/Mypark. I know you're not FORCED to buy VC but the reality is that if you want to be competitive you have to because the grind to even get to 80 is stupidly slow. It sucks but I would begrudgingly buy VC.

Once they introduced the $180.00 season pass ($20.00 X 9 seasons) I knew I was out. At some point I have to draw the line and paying $300+ a year to play 2K was not for me. 2K should be a free to play game because of the micro-transactions. It is like a restaurant charging you $100.00 just to get in the door then charging you an additional $250.00 for the food.

This is the year that I don't purchase it day 1 on release. I have been doing so since 2k10 which was ironically Kobe's last cover but the last few iterations have been straight garbage. I wrestled with the decision the past few years but ultimately made the purchase since I wanted to take advantage of the next-gen PS5 graphics (they do look sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet).

As the only basketball game out there, there isn't much choice but to purchase the next iteration for the roster updates. Once the season rolls around with all the excitement following the off-season trades + rookies, its hard to resist wanting to play the only basketball game on the market.
