The only time I've seen Nunez play was the exhibition against the US. He struggled early against Brunson, but I thought he bounced back and had a very good second half. I was impressed.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

So, I checked their roster and it doesn't look like that this is entirely accurate. They have 5 players playing in Portugal's top flight, 3 players playing in African leagues (1 in Cape Verde, 2 in Cameroon), one player playing in Bulgaria, Tavares who plays for Real and it only gets weird after that. They have one guy who plays for CB Almeria, a team who plays in Spain's 3rd division, and they also have a guy who plays for the Providence Pirates in the States, a professional team who plays in what looks like a reconstructed ABA team.
okay, sorry for wrong Info There. i got my input through a Podcast where the guest, a german fiba "specialist" looked into All the Teams. He said this with spanish 5th Division. might looked something wrong up or These players Were only on the preliminary squad and got cut for the tournament.

Again I 100% agree with you that Reaves is playing great ball.ROballer wrote:Dacost wrote:Well yea or duh !!
Teams come out playing hard in the first few minutes and eventually their lack of depth kills them once Haliburton/Reaves/Banchero come in.
I'm not hating on Reaves I do agree he has been playing well but using +/- for FIBA is just insane in order to make an argument.
It's ridiculous.
The other teams are not necessarily using the same minutes distribution. It doesn't mean when the 3 mentioned come to play for the first time, the other team yanks it's starters.
Kerr routinely subbed them in after playing the starters 4-5 minutes tops for Pete's sake. Let's not act Reaves is playing the other team's 7-12 guys because that is a flat out lie.
The minutes are staggered, Reaves plays the same guys the starters are playing for huge chunks of time and viceversa.
If you don't like the +/- stat ignore it and just watch the game, the eye test supports the theory as well. Best 3 guys through two games for team USA have been Haliburton/Reaves and Banchero and it really is as simple as that. Every stat in the book and the eye test on top support this. I guess it might be true? Duh..
But people who use +/- are insane.Imgram has been awful so far pretty much destroying all +/- stats for the starting 5.That's just not fair for the others.
+/- is poison and people who use to make points just make worst.

The more Brunson shines, the more Mavs are gonna lose Luca I have to think. It can't make Luka happy thinking we could've kept that guy for cheap instead of gutting the team for Kyrie. Unless Luca just wants his $400m contract and let the chips fall where they may (and likely not in Dallas).
anyways, don't mean to start a discussion. I just think this is one extremely bad mistake Cuban's made.

The Brunson thing was mishandled and we will see how Kyrie fits and whether his focus is still basketball, but they gave up very little in that trade so odd to say they “gutted the team.”

Wtf u talking about? Feels like a troll, its not like luka is complicated to spell. Not exactly giannis last name.
Brunson and kyrie had nothing to do with eachother. Brunson prefered to cuddle with his dirty uncle, nothing mavs could have done. 1 1st for kyrie is a great price.

He's a slightly below average rotation center in EuroLeague.

It's really getting old that he's always on Greece's NT just to make Giannis happy. I honestly don't think Thanasis is even in the top 30 of Greek players.......at least he almost always makes one highlight reel play though.
But yeah, it's always the same thing with him for years now. One great highlight play, and the whole rest of the game is just fouling and bricking.
He hasn't improved one single bit in all of the years he's been in the NBA.

Lakers got lucky with reaves. Teams wanted him they just didn't want their cap space to be tied up. Making the Lakers pay extra would have been nice but teams weren't gonna do that at the cost of not having cap space. Rockets were wanting Reaves too just didn't feel like losing time.

Never underestimate the white people's struggles and sucks on spelling non anglo-Saxon names correctly. Even if it's so easy, they will misspell it for some reason.

He is literally the only guy on the team who can jump over a wet towel, so there is that.
I am pretty sure you are just joking, but Papagiannis has a higher vertical than Thanasis does.

The Magic shouldve offered him a contract. What were they saving their capsapce for? Joe Ingles?

He got good minutes with Ulm playing in the german league and eurocup. The German league is generally a good developmental league for somewhat younger players cause it's not as top heavy as some of the 2nd tier european leagues, facilities and standards are pretty professional and if you end up on a Eurocup team, that's an awesome situation.
I think the Euroleague is too demanding for young PGs to actually get minutes and develop bigger roles on offense. Best case scenario is actually someone like Jokubaitis who is great at organizing plays and making safe, cerebral decisions, but he'll never be asked to making 3 to 4 plays in a row, score some buckets or take important shots playing for an elite team like Barcelona. Which is a pity, cause it looks like this is pretty much his final form.
And yes there are exceptions but those are generational prospects for European standards like Rubio and Luka.
Rubio was just a unique case all around. He was actually a terrible player in EuroLeague, but Barca just played him anyway. But he was almost always on the bench in the important times.

Lol. If I'm RHJ why would I want to go back to the NBA if after this World Cup he can probably make better money elsewhere as one of the team's primary guy. As opposed to playing 9th man role. Rondae Kobe won't see the light of day in the NBA, he will be asked to play a 3&D role exclusively, and he probably suck at that.
Like from whom. NBA vet mim is nowadays a bigger contract than what established Euroleague guy gets. You always get NBA money, foot in the door to then earn possibly even more cash. No one in basketball comes close to NBA contracts hense several exceptions at the most. Also do not forget he plays for Jordan, he looks great, but any el guard would be superstar on that team, just like Mitroglunis their superstar center.
NBA vet minumim for 6 years in the NBA, like he has is $2,528,233. That's gross, so federal taxes, state taxes, local taxes, agent fees, union fees, retirement fees, all come out of that.
Usually the sports agencies consider it 60% for NBA teams that play in states without a state income tax and 63% for the teams that play in states with the state income tax. So we are talking about something like $900,000 US dollars net. Just about any decent rotation player in EuroLeague is making that much or more.

NBA players are not paying 63% of their take home on taxes and agent fees. It’s less than 50.
And are you saying that European players don’t have taxes or fees? Isn’t the highest paid Euroleague player making like 4m a year before taxes?

Day 5 Odds
Germany -12.5 vs Finland - No bearing game for GER so pick Finland
Angola +12 vs Dominican Republic - DOM want to avoid complications if they lose this game so better win comfortably
Egypt +7 vs Mexico
Lebanon +34 vs France - we know the French are pissed but this is too big of a spread?
Australia -18.5 vs Japan - Not doubting Japan again but not touching this game
Philippines +13.5 vs Italy - Should be an easy win for the Italians
Montenegro +5 vs Lithuania
Canada -17.5 vs Latvia
