Germany -12.5 vs Finland - No bearing game for GER so pick Finland
Angola +12 vs Dominican Republic - DOM want to avoid complications if they lose this game so better win comfortably
Egypt +7 vs Mexico
Lebanon +34 vs France - we know the French are pissed but this is too big of a spread?
Australia -18.5 vs Japan - Not doubting Japan again but not touching this game
Philippines +13.5 vs Italy - Should be an easy win for the Italians
Montenegro +5 vs Lithuania
Canada -17.5 vs Latvia

Thoughts?

The game against finland is 100% important for germany because every score gets translated into round 2, so if germany wants to have a szenario where they could potentially lose to slovenia (and win against georgia) and still get to the quarter finals - they ll need this win against finland.

No it does not count in the Round 2 stage, only the records against the team who'll advance will count towards the carried over record. With Finland out, they are entering that stage 2-0 regardless of what happens in the game later.

My bad, not sure when did it change or maybe it was continental competition that only considered the teams advancing that carries over but apparently i am wrong and they are counting ALL 3 games. So you are correct, that matters now for Germany so reconsidering my spread bets :D

Hmm, I think the Teams take all of their wins/losses to the 2nd round, but could be wrong

As for the picks - call me a homer, but I am picking Latvia not to lose by more than 17. I'm also kind of tempted by Montenegro +5, I think they can match with Lithuania and even if Lithuania wins in the end, it could be a close one.

Also do not forget he plays for Jordan, he looks great, but any el guard would be superstar on that team, just like Mitroglunis their superstar center.

NBA vet minumim for 6 years in the NBA, like he has is $2,528,233. That's gross, so federal taxes, state taxes, local taxes, agent fees, union fees, retirement fees, all come out of that.

Usually the sports agencies consider it 60% for NBA teams that play in states without a state income tax and 63% for the teams that play in states with the state income tax. So we are talking about something like $900,000 US dollars net. Just about any decent rotation player in EuroLeague is making that much or more.

NBA players are not paying 63% of their take home on taxes and agent fees. It’s less than 50.

And are you saying that European players don’t have taxes or fees? Isn’t the highest paid Euroleague player making like 4m a year before taxes?

Salaries in Europe are net.

Pains me to say it but Angola has no offense at all while Goncalves is out with foul trouble.

Might not break 50 points

Finland beside France is probably most disappointing team. We didn't really expect them to make through, but losing to Japan and not looking competitive at all against group favorites, is surprising.

Makes me wonder how importat Huff and Koponnen were in terms of leadership. Lauri also looked more like 2017 Lauri than last year's dominat version.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Didn't expect three wins in the group phase, especially without Franz for two of the three. That's a strong and deep team. *knock on wood*

Pleasant surprise for sure. Also being able to rest the starters for large parts of the 2nd half and still win by 26. Depth is one of the big strengths of this team. Perect position for group stage 2.
